It is still 81 days until the World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship kicks off. It is predicted to be one of the biggest championships, and WPT is doing everything to make it so.
In line with that, the WPT is running the WPT Global program to send more players to Las Vegas. Dubbed Poker Flips, this promotion is ongoing on the WPT client. Participating players will win packages and cash prizes through a leaderboard to the Championship in December 2022.
The Poker Flips on the WPT Global app has a new twist. Instead of playing the usual Heads-Up No-Limit Hold`em, players will bet on computer players and winning hands. In other words, you do not have to play roulette-style NLH matches but bet on computer players and hands in a game.
The games have odds for different outcomes. Players/bettors can predict outcomes and place bets based on which player they believe will win and on which hand a computer-based player will win.
The betting system is pretty easy, featuring a colorful interface with unique outcomes. Each outcome has a different pay rate depending on hand frequencies.
Winning bets is not the only reward players will get for participating. WPT Global has a leaderboard promotion rewarding participants with weekly and monthly incentives. Lucky players will win packages to the WPT World Championship festivals, while others will win cash prizes.
Enjoy Heads-up Poker Differently
While the formats featured in the Poker Flips game are similar to previous games, the new promotion has some unique features. As we already mentioned, players do not play any hand. Instead, they wager on how a hand between two computer players will roll out.
Ideally, players have to wager on Cowboy`s or Bull`s hand. Yet, this is not the only option. You will also have an option of betting on a specific winning hand and getting a payout depending on the odds for the particular hand.
There is also an Activity Bonus that will reward players with points. The more you play, the more points you can accumulate. For example, playing seven days in a row will give you 400 points, 200 points for playing five days in a row, and 50 points for playing three days in a row.
These points will go to the weekly and monthly leaderboards and will determine winners for cash prizes and an entry into the World Championship at the end of the year. The top five finishers will also get around $12,000.
WPT World Championship
The WPT World Championship begins on December 1, 2022. It is scheduled to run until December 20, with the Main Event happening between December 12 and 18th.
With a buy-in of $10,400, you can participate in the Main Event and stand a chance to win some of the $15 million guaranteed cash prize. Alternatively, you can win a WPT Championship package by playing Poker Flips.
The package consists of $2000, which goes to your traveling bills, and a $10,400 entry fee. You will also get WPT Global merchandise and special treatment during the WPT Championship.
