The World Wide Technology Championship isn’t the only golf tournament that’s going down this week. The PGA TOUR Champions’ TimberTech Championship is slated to kick off this week on Friday, November 5 before concluding on Sunday, November 7. Once again, the event will be held at the Old Course at the Broken Sound Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
Jim Furyk is favored to win the 2021 TimberTech Championship, according to BetOnline. The 2003 U.S. Open winner’s odds of winning currently sit at +550.
At 51 years old, Furyk has only competed in the tournament once in the past. That came last year when he placed second after going 16-under-par. He only lost out by a single stroke, which goes to show how close he was to winning.
The 2021 TimberTech Championship will also be the first event that Furyk has been a part of in nearly two weeks. He was last seen at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, where he placed T-8th. While that was a good showing, Furyk is likely hungry for a victory. He hasn't won since this year’s U.S. Senior Open back in July, so a win would be a long time coming. The field will be tough in Boca Raton, however, Furyk has faced stiff competition before and only time will tell if he can pull off the victory again.

Langer Looking for History
While Furyk may be the TimberTech Championship favorite, Bernhard Langer is not too far behind him at +600 odds. The 64-year-old has more experience than anyone else does when it comes to being successful at the tournament, winning it a record two times in 2010 and 2019.
In total, Langer has competed at the TimberTech Championship 13 times in his career, placing inside of the Top 10 nine times. What’s even more impressive is that seven of those nine instances are Top-3 performances. Now, he has a chance to be the first man in the tournament’s history to win it three times. Considering his history at the Broken Sound Club, it seems pretty feasible.
Recent momentum is also on Langer’s side. He’s placed 9th or better in six of his last seven outings and just won the Dominion Energy Charity Classic back on October 24. With everything pointing in Langer’s favor, it’s hard to doubt him when it comes to winning the TimberTech Championship one more time.
Miguel Angel Jimenez TimberTech Championship Odds
Miguel Angel Jimenez rounds out the Top 3 when it comes to TimberTech Championship odds at +900. This year marks his fifth time competing in the tournament, not having had much success in the past. Jimenez placed 23rd, 31st and 19th in his first three outings at the Broken Sound Club. Fortunately, things changed for the better last year when he shot 15-under-par, which was good enough for 4th.
In terms of recent play, Jimenez will be looking for a bounce-back performance in Boca Raton. There was a recent stretch where he placed 2nd in three of four outings, however, that streak came to an end at the Dominion Energy Class where he finished T-31st. There are a lot of big names competing at the TimberTech Championship, so a high finish isn’t guaranteed. Nevertheless, Jimenez has a lot of experience when it comes to pulling off surprises and the stage is set for him to do it again this week.
