New Jersey continues to offer players a ton of options when it comes to gaming. Offering online casino and poker gaming, plus the recent launch of online sports betting, players will find now shortage of gaming content. Just recently, it was announced that even more online gaming options are coming in the sports betting sector. TheScore has announced this week that they are close to launching their sports betting app in the state.
Fall Launch
TheScore is closer than ever to launching their sports betting application in New Jersey. The company is based in Toronto, Canada and are ready to get started in the Garden State. The company hopes to be offering sports betting services by the time the NFL Season starts this fall. Everything is reportedly on course for a fall launch. TheScore has already filed the necessary documents and the process is fully underway to get going with services.
According to CEO of TheScore, John Levy, everything is moving based on their timeline as anticipated. Regulators have been great, and Levy pointed out that it has been refreshing to work with regulators who understand the gaming business and have a business acumen.
TheScore is different from the other sportsbooks apps offered in the state as they are a media company. The brand could have chosen to be an affiliate and be involved in the industry but they decided to go for more.
Details of the App
The new app by TheScore should be quite successful in New Jersey as players have really taken to sports betting. The company already has a digital sports news application that can be accessed via Android and iOS devices. The app has four to five million active users and the app is used by players in every US state. The company does have a following and the brand is recognized by sports fans. This should help them to gain a following once they launch a sports betting application.
Surprisingly, TheScore news app is the second most popular news option for sports fans, falling just under ESPN.
For their sports betting offering, a separate app would be used to offer wagering options. According to Levy, the offering will be similar to what Facebook offers with their Messenger. One is a compliment to the other. The sports betting app of TheScore will compliment the news application offered in every state.
When the app is live it will be a skin for Monmouth Park. The operator is allowed to have three and already work with William Hill and PlaySugarHouse. Once regulatory issues have been completed, more information regarding the app will be released by the company. Levy has stated that it will be really easy to use to place a wager.
In New Jersey, the majority of sports bets are placed via app. Reports have shown that as much as 80% of bets placed in the state are made via mobile device or online. It will be interesting to see how the new app affects the revenue numbers and if even more players opt for online wagering.
