Stephen Song Holds Chip Lead in EPT Barcelona Main Event

Day 6 of the 2024 European Poker Tour Barcelona is to have an exciting main event, and the final table will consist of the high-performing players that have been making waves and amassing big wins on top of amazing plays and eliminations in a flurry of matches that happened over the course of the past few days in the tournament.

The final table on Day 6 will consist of 6 players, and they will fight for the €1.5 million first-place cash prize. With such a prize on the line, the competitors will surely pull out all the stops to come out on top.

Who are the Contestants for the EPT Barcelona Main Event Final Table?

The lineup for the EPT Barcelona Main Event Final Table consists of three American players: Stephen Song, David Coleman, and Rania Nasreddine, and three European players: Andrew Hulme from the United Kingdom, Marius-Catalin Pertea from Romania, and Boris Kuzmanovic from Croatia.

It is worth noting that American poker players haven’t won in the EPT on European territory for the past decade: the last time an American managed to pull off the victory was when Stephen Graner won it all during the EPT Prague back in December 2014.

Now, America has three representatives at the Final Table, and each of them are raring to get the win for their country. In terms of standings and chip leaders, Song leads the competition with 15,150,000. This is followed by Pertea with 14,575,000, and Coleman with 10,425,000. Rounding up the finalists are Nasreddine with 8,300,000, Kuzmanovic with 5,275,000, and Hulme with 5,525,000.

Song is no stranger to the high-stakes poker scene: he recently won the 2022 WPT Prime Championship as well as a WSOP bracelet to go with over $6.5 million in lifetime live tournament earnings.

Coleman is riding off a huge wave of momentum off his win in one of the $25,000 WPT Alpha8 Trifecta events at Wynn Las Vegas over the summer. No doubt his experience in high roller tournaments will likely give him an edge once the cards have been dealt.

Meanwhile, Nasreddine has also made her impact in recent high-stakes poker tournaments, namely during her run at EPT Monte Carlo, where her plays had her finish in third place. Moreover, Nasreddine landing on the EPT Final Table for a second consecutive time is a rare feat to achieve, and it is all but a sure thing that she’ll be playing to win it all.

That said, the European competitors are no pushovers: Marius Pertea of Romania is second in chip counts and is looking to continue his hot streak in the EPT Final Table. Pertea initially got into the tournament via a $55 online satellite before finally clinching his first EPT Main Event final table spot.

Andrew Hulme of England is a long-standing professional poker player who has been an active participant in most EPT and UK-based events since 2009, along with some appearances in WSOP tournaments in Las Vegas.

The same goes with Boris Kuzmanovic of Croatia, who has been playing professional poker since 2011, and has seen his fair share of big wins in WSOP Las Vegas events, as well as experience in multiple EPTs.

Each placement on the EPT Final Table will have corresponding cash prizes:

1st place – €1,512,000 ($1,677,205)
2nd place – €944,000 ($1,047,144)
3rd place – €674,150 ($747,809)
4th place – €518,600 ($575,263)
5th place – €398,950 ($442,540)
6th place – €306,900 ($340,433)
