The World Poker Tour continues to deliver some great live poker action in 2024, and the second half of Season XXII will get underway soon. There are some big standalone tournaments put on by WPT throughout the year, but at it’s core this is a yearlong event.
There have already been some great moments that have taken place during Season XXII already, but now is when tournaments are going to take place throughout the world. The WPT Rolling Thunder Championship was the final event of the first half, and there were two unique events during the break.
The first event during this break was set to take place in Korea, and then it will be time for the WPT Voyage. That will be a weeklong cruise where the best poker players will be competing in tournaments and enjoying themselves on the high seas.
Two more events will take place in the United States before the official action during the second half of the season will begin.
Plenty to Come
The second half of the WPT Season XXII will have the top players traveling all over the world, and that will generate plenty of excitement. Things are going to kickoff in June with an event that is going to be taking place in Macau with a massive buy-in.
Players are going to have some time to regroup after the event in Macau as the next tournament will be held in Taiwan from August 15-19. From there, players that want to take place in the next tournament will travel to the UK from September 12-16, or there is another event in Australia taking place from September 20-25.
One event that the top poker players typically don’t want to miss is the event that takes place in Paris as there are some great locations there. That will also be the last international stop in the second half of the season before the players will make a return to the United States.
The WPT Seminole Hard Rock “N” Roll Poker Open will take place from November 29-December 4, and it will be a great way to end this part of the schedule. That’s not all though as the WPT World Championship will once again be held at Wynn Las Vegas.
A Look at WPT World Championship
The WPT World Championship has become a huge event every single year, and the third edition of this tournament will be held in 2024. A full schedule of events has not yet been announced, but it is sure to provide plenty of drama and excitement.
Last year there was over $100 million handed out throughout this event, and close to 11,000 players participated. Those were records at the time, and those are expected to fall at the conclusion of this event.
There will be two main events that are held at Wynn Las Vegas, but there will also be an all-women’s tournament. That is one nice wrinkle offered by WPT, and it will allow the best females to get involved.
