Wynn Las Vegas will host the $10,400 buy-in $15 million guaranteed World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship between December 12th and December 20th. It will have 22 extra tournaments as WPT celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Poker analysts predict that the $15 million guarantee will lure many experienced players, and the event will be televised. Still, the field might comprise qualifiers and satellite winners like ClubWPT, WPT, and Wynn. Each of them has been running unique promotions that have given some players entries and passports into the World Championship.
ClubWPT issued a passport to its last qualifier on October 30th. Each satellite's winner got the $12,000 Passport to the upcoming World Championship. It included an event buy-in, travel, and hotel stipend.
Even so, players can qualify for the tournament by playing Wynn Resorts' one live $1,100 buy-in satellite that will continue until December. A mega-satellite will occur on December 11th and award more than 49 entries to the Championship. Still, they can play WPT Global and win a seat up to November 30th.

Ronald "Tigar" Penepent won a passport to the WPT World Championship on July 17th at ClubWPT's qualifier. He currently resides in northern Chattanooga with Patt, his wife.
The poker player stated in a recent interview that he was born and grew up in Batavia, New York. His parents nicknamed him "Tigar," and the name is popular among his friends and family.
Patti and Tigar adopted six cats and four dogs. Besides, he has been an ardent Buffalo Bills supporter for a long time. But he often plays poker for recreation, and he is Cleveland Ford's Service Advisor.
Tigar's passion for poker started when he was young, playing with his friends and family. He aspired to win a huge tournament and often consulted his father, who succumbed to cancer in 2020. So, getting an entry into the World Championship was one of his bucket list items.
Penepent joined ClubWPT for a long period. He revealed that he discovered it on television, and it helps someone relax when they are free. Moreover, the player has visited Las Vegas many times but has never been in a live WPT tournament.
He is eager to meet Phil Hellmuth and Doyle Brunson at the championship. Patti yearns to meet with Lynn Gilmartin, a WPT anchor whose class she admired.
Reports state that Tigar will bring "Team Tigar '' to the city to cheer him in the event. It will include ten family members from New York, Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio, and Alabama.
