Here lately, it seems almost every week there is a new online poker series for players to enjoy, be it in the United States or abroad. Just this week, 888poker announced that the XL Spring Series will kick off May 30 and offer eight days of gaming with 25 events taking place.
XL Spring Series
This time around, the series will include more than $1 million in total prize money guaranteed. The main event takes up about half the prize money with $500,000 set as its total pool. In the last XL series, the online poker operator tried a Progressive Knockout event and this time around, the main event will be a standard NLH option.
Over the past few XL series, 888poker has also lowered the buy-in amount. Most of the events have a buy-in of $100 or less. The majority are just $33 or under. The Main Event is only $250 to take part. There is also a Micro Main Event, which offers a $5 buy-in and $15,000 in prize money.
The series kicks off with Event #1, the $50,000 Opening Event. This tournament has a buy-in of $55. If you are looking to spend less, take part in Event #2, the Mini Opening or Event #3, the Micro Opening. The Mini event has a $16.5 buy-in and a $25,000 prize pool. The Micro is even lower at $5.5 and featured $10,000 in total prize money.
Aside from the opening event, there are only two more $50,000 events. Event #8 is a High Roller option featuring a $320 buy-in and the $50,000 prize pool. Qualify for Events
Players can also take part in satellites to qualify for events in the series. Daily satellites are taking place for the Main Event and they are already running. There are two buy-ins, $3.30 and $22. Players can also take part in sub-satellites to earn a spot in the main qualifiers, starting at just $0.01.
888poker is also offering up freerolls from now until the end of the XL Spring Series. The freerolls run everyday and offer tickets to the main event to winners.
