The WSOP has not wasted any time over the past few months in supplying players with a plethora of online poker gaming content. The Championship series was a super success followed by the Online Series which offered up 31 gold bracelets, not to mention even more at GGPoker, which is currently still running. Now it seems, the online poker operator is launching yet another option, the August Summer Series. This tournament series is open to players in Delaware, Nevada and New Jersey.
August Summer Series
This new series will offer up over $3 million in prize money to players competing. The buy-ins will start at a low $5 and continue up to $1,000. On average, it will cost just under $200 to compete in events. The majority of the events on the schedule are No Limit Hold’em. However, there are also Omaha options on the schedule as well.
The events will take place in varying formats, with something for everyone. Players will find knockouts, freezeouts, super turbos, rebuys, deepstacks and more. There are high roller events on the schedule with players competing for $75k to $100k in guaranteed prize money.
The Main Event
Of course, every series has to have a main event and the August Summer Series is no exception. The main event here will have a buy-in of $525 and will provide unlimited entries. The blind levels will increase every 15 minutes and players will be provided a 15k starting stack.
The winner of the Main Event will receive a unique Champions’ belt with the first place prize money. This is a unique prize that will be something players can show off for their efforts in the game!
Amazingly, the series is the 9th online option that WSOP has offered on its network this year. Basically, the network has offered a poker series every month this year and sometimes more than one. The year is not close to being over, so there will most likely be even more online poker action taking place in the US and abroad via WSOP.com.
Even More
On top of the news that WSOP is offering up the August Summer Series, the brand has also added to its monthly MTT schedule. Titled Summer Sizzle, a new tournament is now on the schedule to run at the end of the month. Each last Sunday, the tournament will pop up offering $200,000 in guaranteed prize money. It has a $320 buy-in.
The event will replace the $100,000 Sunday Special. The top 15% are paid and the new option is open to players located in New Jersey, Delaware and Nevada. This is just one more option on top of a series of new additions and poker gaming that WSOP Has been offering players in the US.
It will be interesting to see how the August Summer Series plays out as well as how receptive players are to the new Summer Sizzle. There is no doubt that traffic will be large at WSOP over the next few months!
