The World Series of Poker Circuit has been holding events already this year, and some poker players have been cashing in. Many are waiting until the bigger events are set to take place later this year, and the World Series of Poker has finally announced the schedule.
There are some WSOP satellite events taking place throughout the country right now, and players are trying to earn a spot in the Main Event. The Main Event will once again be the top overall event at the WSOP, but there are going to be other exciting options.
All of the action is set to begin on May 28th, and it will run through July 17th. Poker players are expected to lock to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas as that is where the major live tournaments are going to be played.
A total of 99 WSOP bracelets are going to be handed out over the next few months, and that’s more than what took place last year. There are going to be over 700 different poker tables being used for this event, including some newer poker rooms brought in by the casino.
Players from all over the world will be in attendance throughout the entire event, and that will lead to some great action. The Main Event will feature over 10,000 entries yet again, and that could push the total prize to close to $13 million.
Main Event Features
Daniel Weinman is expected to make another appearance at the WSOP Main Event as he was the champion of this a season ago. Weinman was able to cash in for a total win of $12.1 million last year, but that record is expected to be shattered this year.
The Main Event is going to begin on Wednesday, July 3, as that is the first day that flights are going to be played. There are going to be a total of four days with flights, and players will all be trying to advance to another day.
Players are going to be eliminated throughout the event, with the final table being big enough for a total of nine players. There is expected to be two full days of live poker action at the final table, with a champion crowned on July 17th.
Other Major Highlights
The World Series of Poker isn’t all about the biggest events though as there are going to be other events that attract plenty of action. Event #5 is really going to kick off the terrific action as $1 million is guaranteed to the first place winner with the 1,000 Mystery Millions event.
There is another event on May 30th that is popular as Event #6 will be the $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship. Hold’em is the style of game that attracts most of the players, but there are other unique styles of games that have become popular.
Now that the complete list of events is out on the website, players can start to figure out what tournaments they would like to enter.
