Suvarna Wins Super High Roller Title

The most expensive poker tournament so far during the 2024 World Series of Poker was won by someone that doesn’t have a ton of career success. The $250,000 Super High Roller event had 75 players sign up to participate, and that pushed the total prize pool to nearly $19 million.

Santhosh Suvarna ended up winning this massive event, and he was able to win over a number of live poker fans in the process. The win for Suvarna landed him $5.4 million, and it was easily the biggest win of his poker career.

This was the second WSOP bracelet for Suvarna, and he had to get past a number of poker legends in order to get that done. Ben Tollerone finished in second place in this event after not being able to get past Suvarna.

Not only that, but Tollerone was actually in control of the final table for much of the day, but it was Suvarna that came up with some huge hands late in the action. Even though there was some disappointment for Tollerone, he still won more than $3 million by finishing in second place.

Survana a Popular Player

Suvarna has quickly built a reputation as being one of the nicest players in poker, and other players were there to cheer him on at the final table. While other legends of the game were sitting with Suvarna, many were happy with the overall outcome.

Suvarna is an Indian casino mogul of sorts, and he has been spending his free time studying the game of poker. He is now the all-time leader for his country in terms of live poker winnings, and he doesn’t even have that much experience.

At the final table, Survava was extremely patient, and that allowed him to see how other players were competing. This strategy did allow Tollerone to take the chip lead, but the patience for Survana gave him a chance to get to heads up action.

When it was time to make a move, Turvana was able to win a huge hand, and that allowed him to take the chip lead from Tollerone. From there, the two players were battling it out for a few hands before Survana took complete control.

There have been a number of surprising winners already at the WSOP, but this win from Survana will go down as one of the biggest upsets.
