For the past few months, online poker has been booming, across the US as well as internationally. Players have been stuck at home, unable to visit a casino due to the coronavirus, so they are logging on in record numbers to take part in cash games and tournament options. Many top brands have pumped out promotion after promotion and event after event to ensure that players have access to poker gaming while at home. The WSOP is no exception. From the WSOP Online Series to other big events, the provider has not slacked when it comes to offerings. For September, players in Delaware, New Jersey and Nevada have much to look forward to!
Upcoming Action
There is a ton of action this month at the WSOP sites in the US. There is the WSOP 50th Anniversary Series as well as the WSOP Global Casino Championship and two new tournaments. Players can access over $4 million in prize pool guarantees in September alone!
The special Anniversary Series will offer 50 events with over $3 million in guaranteed prize money. There will be old school freezeouts with the Main Event offering up $505,050 in prize money and a buy-in of $555! This series runs from September 8 to the 27. This series was created to celebrate 50 years of the World Series of Poker.
The events of this series will be a mix of variants. Formats will include freezeouts, 8-max games, re-entries and more. During the series, a special Colossus NLH tournament will take place with $25,000 in prize money. The buy-in to this event is just $55. Players in the three US states should definitely check out the WSOP action of this series.
New Tournament Options
Along with the anniversary series, WSOP is offering US players two new tournament options, one being Rack It Up. This event features a guarantee of $50,000 and the money will increase each day by $5,000 until the guarantee is missed. This event starts on the 8th and will continue each day at 7pm until the guarantee is missed. The buy-in is $215.
Yet another new option brought by the WSOP is Dropping Dimes. This event is a rake free tournament with a $50 buy-in. The guarantee for this event is $10,000. The tournaments will run throughout the month of September and appear at random in the poker lobby. Players must watch out for the events as they will be offered randomly.
The WSOP is also offering an invitation only event on September 13. The WSOP Global Championship was supposed to take place in August in North Carolina. However, the pandemic forced the event to move online.
Now those invited will compete for $1 million in prize money. This is a bracelet event, so the winner will earn the gold. Most of the entries for this event were provided for free to the winners of WSOP Circuit Ring events during the year. Players who made it to the top of the Circuit leaderboards were also provided entry.
