BetOnline Poker´s $10,000 Dollar Insanity tournament has an advertised buy-in of $1.10, but there are a couple of ways in which players can qualify for free.
On Sunday July 21st, [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/betonline-poker/”]BetOnline Poker[/geolink] will be hosting one of its craziest promotions ever – a “Dollar Insanity” tournament with a $1.10 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $10,000. The tournament has a multi-entry format – enabling players to enter up to ten times and play at up to ten tables simultaneously – and a deepstack structure, with starting stacks equivalent to 333 Big Blinds.
To add to the craziness, BetOnline Poker is giving players the opportunity to qualify for free by either paying a dollar in tournament entry fees on any day, or by finishing in a top ten position in special mobile only freeroll tournaments. In theory, you could have ten entries in the Dollar Insanity tournament, and be in with a great chance of winning a share of $10,000, without spending a cent.
More about the Dollar Insanity Tournament
The Dollar Insanity tournament kicks off at 8:00pm ET and has three hours late registration for players that don´t want to use all ten entries in one go. Each player starts with 10,000 chips per entry and – at the start of the tournament – blinds of 15/30 (ante 3). Blinds increase every ten minutes and, at the end of late registration (Level 17) will be 500/1,000 with a 100 chip ante.
Mechanisms are in place to prevent the same player with multiple entries playing in two seats at the same table. However, there may come a point towards the end of the tournament when it is impossible to isolate multiple entries, in which case players´ chip stacks will be combined – leading to some massive shifts in the balance of power on the tournament leaderboard.
My guess is that there will be a very late finish to this tournament. Although the number of players that can enter the tournament is capped at 9,999, if every player entered the maximum ten times, that would result in nearly a billion chips in play. Still, the late finish could be worth it if you are able to finish in a top position – especially if you qualify for free.
How to Qualify for Free for the Dollar Insanity Event
There are two ways to qualify for free for the Dollar Insanity event. The first is to pay a minimum of $1.00 in tournament entry fees between 00:00am ET and 11:59pm ET on any day. You don´t have to pay the dollar all in one go. If you enter ten $1.10 tournaments, the $0.10 fee will be added up each time, and a free ticket for the Dollar Insanity event automatically credited to your account.
The second way is to download BetOnline Poker’s mobile app and play in mobile-exclusive Dollar Insanity freeroll tournaments. There are ten Dollar Insanity freeroll tournaments each day taking place between 8:00am ET and 11:00pm. Each awards a free Dollar Insanity ticket to the top ten players, so that´s one hundred tickets given away every day for free.
What´s more, you don´t have to stick to one free ticket route or the other. You could, for example, qualify for five free tickets by playing in paid-for tournaments, and qualify for five more free tickets by playing in the mobile-exclusive freerolls. However, if you qualify more than ten times, any extra tickets awarded will be forfeited, as will any tickets you fail to use in the Dollar Insanity event.
You´d be Crazy Not to Play in the Dollar Insanity Tournament
This is a great promotion for any player who is available to stay up late into the night on Sunday July 21st. The chance to win a share of $10,000 for free will undoubtedly appeal to inexperienced players and freerollers hoping to spin their free tickets into a decent payday. However, many may not appreciate how long the tournament will last, and I suspect there will be a lot of dead money on the tables as the tournament gets to the business end of proceedings.
Therefore, I strongly recommend visiting BetOnline Poker today and taking advantage of the opportunities to qualify for free for the Dollar Insanity event. You´d be crazy not to!
