Online poker giant PokerStars is operational in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, seeing great success in the latter as it is a newer online poker market. In both states, the brand is preparing to offer the popular Bounty Builder Series. As with other poker options, PokerStars will be offering similar options in both states and many are wondering if this might be an indicator as to how much better Pennsylvania is performing than New Jersey when it comes to online poker gaming. All eyes will be on the upcoming series as it begins in a few days to see which state has a better turnout.
Details of the Bounty Builder Series
In both states, the Bounty Builder Series will offer 32 Progressive Knockout tournaments from February 20th to March 1st. In New Jersey, players will find $300,000 in total guaranteed prize money spread across the events. Buy-ins will range from a low $10, to upwards of $750.
The Main Event in the Garden State will have a $300 buy-in and include a $75,000 guarantee. PokerStars will also be offering up a Depositor Freeroll which will provide $6,000 worth of Main Event tickets.
In Pennsylvania, the Bounty Builder Series will offer a little bit more. It will have $500,000 in guaranteed prize money but have the same $10-$750 buy-ins. The Main Event will cost only $300 but will offer a higher prize pool of $100,000 guaranteed. A Depositor Freeroll will be offered here as well, this time with $9,000 in tickets to the Main Event.
Because the events are bounty tournaments, there is a bounty on each player’s head. However, the builder events work a bit differently than the traditional option. With the Bounty Builder Series, the player will keep 50% of a bounty after knocking out a player. The other 50% will go towards their bounty which makes them a larger target.
This type of poker tournament is pretty aggressive as players want to collect as many bounties as they can as the final table draws near. Players will be willing to go after those with larger bounties to of course win the money but also to build a larger bounty for themselves.
Same Scheduling
Whether players are located in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, the scheduling will be the same. However, the prize pools will vary. Players will find more value in Pennsylvania, but the player pools may be smaller in New Jersey due to the established online poker industry.
The series will begin with the Bounty Builder Series Kick-Off which will have a buy-in of $100 and offer a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool in New Jersey and $20,000 in Pennsylvania. This will be followed by a Mini Kick-Off with a much lower $20 buy-in and $3,500 prize pool in NJ and $5,000 in PA.
Additional events on the schedule include DeepStacks, Turbos, Hyper-Turbos, Marathons’ and more. Players can easily find an event to enjoy on the schedule.
