With poker players stuck at home due to the coronavirus outbreak, online poker sites are wasting no time in offering their members quality content, from cash games to tournament options. Top operators have launched a ton of new action to be able to appease the influx of players at their site. The latest to announce a new online poker series is none other than PokerStars. The Stadium Series will kick off next month, running for four weeks and featuring $50 million in prize money.
Details of the Series
The new Stadium Series will run from July 5 to August 2. There will be a total of 102 events that will run over three buy-in levels, Low, Medium and High. The new series will offer a huge amount of cash across the events and will take place first, before other major events set for July, including the GGPoker World Series of Poker Online and partypoker WPT Online Championships.
During the Stadium Series, players will find the buy-ins as well as guarantees will increase each week. The series will end with a $5,200 Grand Final that will offer a $5 million guarantee. This event is scheduled for August 2.
Because the series has three levels of buy-ins, players of every skill level and bankroll can compete. Buy-ins will start at $5.50 and increase to $10,300. Players can choose to play in any level for any event they which to participate in.
Starting on July 13, fans will be able to watch coverage of events with Joe Stapleton and James Hartigan hosting. The airing of live gaming will be a first for PokerStars when considering online events and at-home viewing.
Earn a Free Seat
PokerStars will be offering ways for players to earn seats to Stadium Series events over the next few weeks. Over $2 million in free entries will be provided. On each of the buy-in levels, players can take part in special Heat tournaments. These events will have Sunday Final tickets up for grabs.
Those who earn the Sunday Final tickets will be competing for Grand Final tickets. This has a value of $5,200. Players can also take part in the Fast Track offering at PokerStars to earn Grand Final entries. this will take place in conjunction with daily freerolls and Stars Rewards Spin & Go’s.
Managing Director & Commercial Officer, Poker, Product and Innovation Severin Rasset, commented on the Stadium Series by stating that it’s a unique summer and they want players to have access to entertainment and flair of a live event by offering the cards-up coverage. This will put players at the heart of the action.
PokerStars will offer the Stadium Series across its .eu and .it sites in July as well. In Italy, around three million in prize money will be up for grabs while France, Portugal and Spain will offer a higher prize pool of five million.
