Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip is getting an early start when it comes to announcing details regarding upcoming poker events. The casino has provided a schedule of tentative poker gaming options including the Goliath being back in action. The details were announced via Twitter an are being called Version 1.0. Changes may come in the future, but players can rest assured knowing the action will be strong at the casino this summer!
Goliath Details
The action will kick off in late May and continue through July, offering players plenty of tournament options to choose from. The tournament schedule does not include event numbers just yet, so this is a strong indication that the events may be moved around or changed before the official schedule is released.
Last year, players had access to 67 events during Goliath with a Main Event offering a $1 million prize guarantee and a buy-in of $1,525. This year, it seems the schedule will be relatively similar, but with a few changes to dates of the events when compared to last year.
According to the schedule as it stands, the series will kick off with the Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better One Day tournament with a $165 + $35 buy-in. Players will be given 15,000 in starting chips and blinds increasing every 30 minutes. The prize pool of this event has yet to be set.
Next up is the NLH $50,000 GTD Two Day Event which has three starting flights. Players will be competing for $10,000 in first-place prize money with the event having a buy-in of $100 + $35. Players will be given 15,000 starting chips in this event as well along with 30 minute blinds.
The first week of the series will include specialized events as well including the Seniors Weekly One Day event and the Dealer’s Choice 6-handed affair.
Larger Events
While the schedule includes a great deal of affordable events, there are also options for high rollers. The Main Event will take place beginning on June 30th, running over three days. The event has a buy-in of $1,575 + $175 and features a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. First place is guaranteed a $200,000 prize.
In this event, the blind levels will be 40 and 60 minutes with players starting out with 50,000 in chips. One flight, the 7pm scheduled option, is in Turbo format, so blinds will be quicker at 20 minute levels.
On July 1st, the poker series will feature the Ultimate Goliath Stack event, a two day affair with a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool. This event will have a guaranteed first-place prize of $40,000. The buy-in is relatively affordable at $335 + $65 with players given 40,000 in starting chips and 30/40 minute blind levels.
