Online poker is booming in the state of Pennsylvania and showing no signs of slowing down! PokerStars is the only provider at the moment and the online poker room continues to offer the best in cash gaming, poker tournaments and of course, special events! Players can access plenty of action and this weekend, the PokerStars Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker (PACOOP) begins. On top of the tournament options, players can take part in special offers as well!
The Series
The PACOOP will start on September 19 and continue through October 5. There is a total of $1.5 million up for grabs spread across 50 events. Each event has a varying buy-in with something on the schedule for everyone. One of the most anticipated events on the schedule is the Main Event which has a $300 buy-in and $200,000 in guaranteed prize money up for grabs!
PokerStars is keeping in line with the previous PACOOP by offering the same type of games and buy-in ranges. Players can compete for just $50 to $500. This is the same as last year except the lower $30 buy-in option has been removed. There will be a large mix of games on offer including Omaha, Hold’em and 5-Card Draw. There will be progressive knockouts as well. This type of poker game has become more popular over the past year and is often featured in online poker series.
Unlike last year, there will be some formats that players will not see. This includes Escalating Antes, Big Antes, Zoom and Rebuys. The schedule still includes plenty of options so there is a nice variety among the events.
Special Offers
As part of the PACOOP, PokerStars is offering up a few special offers. First, we have the $7,500 Main Event Depositor Freeroll. The Main Event is of course a big draw for the event, so now players can try to win a seat without paying the $300 buy-in.
To earn a seat in the freeroll, players simply need to make a deposit at PokerStars with $30 or more and use the code PACOOP. The prize pool includes Main Event entries so finish in the money and you will secure a spot in the big event!
On top of this freeroll, the site is also offering up Second Chance Freerolls. This way, players can compete in more events for less money. Any player who busts out of a PACOOP tournament before making the money will be given a ticket to a special freeroll. Each freeroll will offer up $1,250 in satellite tickets. They will also provide entries into the events of the series.
From September 20 to October 3, players can compete in the Second Chance Freerolls. There will be one extra on the 4th as well. In total, PokerStars will be giving away over $18,000 in tickets with this second chance option!
The PACOOP kicks off today and we will stay tuned to all the action. It is looking like the series is going to be a big hit and smash the prize pool guarantees!
