The second leg of the Winning Poker Network´s OSS Cub3d series gets underway today with a packed schedule that includes TWO events guaranteed for $100,000. Today also sees the start of a second leaderboard competition in which ten players will each win four entries to Million Dollar Sunday events.
If you have recently been playing at a site on the Winning Poker Network, you will have likely experienced a thrilling week of online tournament action during the Mini Online Super Series – a series of predominantly smaller buy-in tournaments guaranteeing substantial amounts of prize money.
Admittedly there were some larger buy-in events included in the schedule; but, as two of them had million dollar guarantees, I don´t hear anybody complaining. Furthermore, in addition to more than $3.5 million being won during the Mini Online Super Series, ten players won seats in a $5,000 buy-in Cage game, and ten more won seats in four future Million Dollar Sunday events.
Today sees the start of the second leg of the OSS Cub3d series – the Online Super Series. Over the next two weeks, there will be ninety-four feature tournaments guaranteeing more than $6.8 million in prize money, plus another opportunity to win seats for future Million Dollar Sunday events. Make sure you get involved by playing at Americas Cardroom or Black Chip Poker.
What Happened in the Mini Online Super Series?
Just in case you missed the action last week, here is a quick rundown of what happened. As expected, most of the low buy-in tournaments met – or narrowly failed to meet – their guarantees. The exceptions were Knockout tournaments, PL Omaha tournaments and the two Million Dollar Sunday events that overlaid by a combined total of almost $400,000.
What was noticeable is that the appeal of OSS Cub3d overflowed into the Network´s regular tournament schedule. Most regular tournaments (non-MOSS events) smashed their guaranteed prize pools – including the $150,000 guaranteed Sunday Special (paid $176,400), the $35,000 guaranteed PLO Sunday Special (paid $51,000) and the $50,000 guaranteed High Rollers tournament (paid $67,000).
What to Look Forward to Over the Next Two Weeks
The thrilling online tournament action continues at the Winning Poker Network, with a minimum of five feature events scheduled every day. Today, the Online Super Series starts with a bang with two events guaranteed for $100,000, and further big money events continue throughout the week until Sunday – when not only is there another chance to score in a Million Dollar Sunday event, but the guarantee for the Sunday Special is being doubled to $300,000.
The schedule for the second week on the Online Super Series closely mirrors that of Week 1, with the exception that – on Sunday March 18th – there is an incredible line-up of valuable tournaments not to be missed. The line-up includes (all time ET):
- A $109 buy-in “Warm Up” Event guaranteed for $400,000 (OSS #84 – 1:00pm).
- A $22 buy-in NL Hold´em event with a prize pool guarantee of $100,000 (OSS #85 – 2.00pm).
- A “Double Guarantee” Sunday Special with the same $215 buy-in (OSS #86 – 2.30pm)
- A Million Dollar Sunday event with the half-price buy-in of $256 (OSS #87 – 3.00pm).
- The $540 buy-in Online Super Series Main Event guaranteed for $500,000 (OSS #88 – 3.00pm).
All of the larger buy-in tournaments in the Online Super Series are supported by a comprehensive satellite schedule. Sub-satellites for the Million Dollar Sunday event start at Freebuy level and – on Thursday 15th March – USAFriendlyPokerSites.com will be hosting a special Freebuy in which three seats will be given away to the OSS Main Event Mega-Satellite on March 18th ([geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/wpn-freebuy-passwords/”]Watch this page[/geolink] for more information about our Freebuy events).
Don´t Forget the Online Super Series Leaderboard Competition
With seats in future Million Dollar Sundays up for grabs, it is well worth playing in as many OSS events as possible. Over the next two weeks, leaderboard points will be awarded to each participating player based on their finishing positions, the buy-ins and the number of entries. The top ten players in the leaderboard competition on March 19th will each win four seats worth $1,060.
Although the Mini Online Super Series had fewer events and lower buy-ins, the tenth-placed player in last week´s competition won his prize with 1452.84 points. As a win in a $109 buy-in event with 2,000 entries is worth 894 leaderboard points, you are likely going to need a handful of final table finishes to reach the top ten positions – but, if you do, imagine what that will do to the value of your bankroll!
