If the events of the first few days of the Online Super Series are anything to go by, next Sunday´s Million Dollar tournament is going to create a new record.
The Online Super Series is the middle leg of the Winning Poker Network´s three-tiered OSS Cub3d series. Following on from the Mini Online Super Series (MOSS) and preceding the Bigger Online Super Series (BOSS), the Online Super Series is the most valuable of the three legs – guaranteeing more than $3.6 million in prize money over seventy-seven events.
The Mini Online Super Series shattered records for a low buy-in tournament series – paying out 67% more in prize money than its series guarantee. Now the Online Super Series seems to be following suit – the thirty-three events played so far destroying their individual guarantees by a combined total of more than $320,000. It all bodes well for next weekend´s Million Dollar Sunday tournament.
The Million Dollar Sunday Tournament – September 3rd @ 4:00pm
The last Million Dollar Sunday tournament in April set [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/wpn-million-dollar-sunday-reaches-new-heights/”]a new record for the event[/geolink]. Attracting 2,744 entries, the tournament paid out $1,372,000 – nearly $300,000 more than PokerStars´ Sunday Million. Four players walked away with more than $100,000 in prize money after a deal at the Final Table, while a further four hundred and one players cashed in the event.
Next Sunday´s million dollar guaranteed tournament gets underway at 4:00pm and has five hours of late registration. Players start with 10,000 chips and levels last fifteen minutes each. By the end of late registration, the blinds will have risen to 500/1,000 (ante 100), meaning that players registering at the last minute will have the equivalent of ten Big Blinds.
Million Dollar Qualifiers in Full Swing – Starting at Freebuy Level
As the Million Dollar Sunday has a direct buy-in of $540, the Winning Poker Network has scheduled hundreds of low buy-in satellites and sub-satellites over the coming week. On Sunday, eight events are scheduled for the Online Super Series, guaranteeing a total of $1.525 million.
Even after the Online Super Series has finished, there are plenty more big tournaments to look forward to on the Winning Poker Network. From Wednesday September 6th until Sunday September 10th, the Network will be hosting the Bigger Online Super Series – a series designed for high rollers that will pay out more than $2.1 million over its seventeen events.
