According to a subdued announcement on the 2+2 poker forum, the next $1 million guaranteed “Million Dollar Sunday” will be played on Sunday April 24.
Last year the Winning Poker Network hosted an incredible seven “Million Dollar Sunday” events – all of which resulted in massive overlays. Now, three months into 2016, players were beginning to wonder if the overlays had threatened there ever being an eighth $1 million guaranteed tournament. It appears not.
According to a “soft launch” announcement on the 2+2 poker forum the Winning Poker Network has provisionally scheduled a Million Dollar Sunday tournament for Sunday April 24. No further details were provided with the announcement, but it is safe to assume that the event will have the same $540.00 buy-in and guarantee the winner a minimum of $200,000.
What is “Million Dollar Sunday”?
In case you are a relative newcomer to the promotions offered by sites on the Winning Poker Network, rather than being a sequence of “Sunday Majors” with combined prize pools adding up to $1 million, the “Million Dollar Sunday” is a standalone poker tournament with a million dollar guaranteed prize pool. Working backwards, this would imply that players should free up their calendars from Friday 15 April.
The last Online Super Series (OSS V) took place in December 2015 and paid out more than $2.6 million in prize money over seventy-six events. However the series is not just geared for high rollers.
