It’s hard to ignore the great action that is taking place at the 2024 World Series of Poker, but that’s not the only poker series that is taking place. The 2024 Summer Poker Series is taking place at Resorts World Las Vegas, and there have been some notable champions over the last few days.
This event is going to last all the way through July 22nd, and there will be a total of 82 events that will be taking place. There were 12 winners over the last week of action, and there are some notable games that have come up with wins.
Here is a look at three of the most notable events and the winners that were able to cash in.
Marshall Finally Gets a Win
There were 148 entries in Event #13, and the buy-in was just $200 for this No-Limit Hold’Em event. First place only came with a prize of $5,157, but there was a huge sigh of relief for the player that was able to claim the title.
It was Christopher Marshall that came away with the win at this event, and he has been performing extremely well throughout the Summer Poker Series. Marshall had already been at the final table in three other events, but he was finally able to cash in.
In the three other final table appearances for Marshall, he had racked up a second, third, and fifth place finish during the series. His total cash total in this series is now over $10,000, and he has moved his career total to more than $148,000.
While Marshall is not expected to start signing up for other tournaments elsewhere, he is putting together a nice career at the Summer Poker Series.
Nguyen Back in the Win Column
There was a $10,000 guarantee No-Limit Hold’Em event held as well, and that allowed for the total prize pool to be higher than some other events. Thanh Nguyen was able to take home the title in Event #15, and it was the second title that he has racked up in the Summer Poker Series.
The first win for Nguyen in this event came all the way back in 2006, and he had been in a pretty big slump since his initial victory. Martine Gomez was able to reach her second final table in of the 2024 series, but she finished in sixth place in this particular event.
Hall Having Nice Run
No player is going to get rich during the Summer Poker Series, but William Hall is having a nice run at this event. Hall took home the title in Event #19, and it was the third cash for him during this event in Las Vegas.
It was a $4,600 payout in Event #19, and he was able to navigate through a field of 156 players in order to come away with this title. The other two cashes at this event came after a seventh place finish, but he was able to put things together to go the whole way.
