Last Chance to Win a Million Dollar Spin & Go Jackpot at ACR

Million Dollar Jackpots at ACRAmericas Cardroom has announced the site will end its popular million dollar Spin & Go Jackpot promotion next week ahead of “the next big thing”.

Americas Cardroom is the only USA friendly poker site to offer a Spin & Go three-handed, hyper-turbo game to players in the States at present. Despite the lack of competition, the site has been running a special Million Dollar Spin & Go Jackpot promotion since the end of January. The promotion offers players the chance to share in a million dollar prize from just $0.69.

At the time of writing the Jackpot has not yet hit, and now players dreaming of seeing the $1,000,000 Jackpot flash up in lights before them have been told the promotion is coming to an end next week. Considering the volume of traffic the promotion has driven to the site, its end comes as a bit of a surprise. But Americas Cardroom promises it will be replaced with “the next big thing”.

How to Play Jackpot Poker at Americas Cardroom

Jackpot Poker games are easy to find at Americas Cardroom. Simply log into the poker client and you will see the “Jackpots” tab along the blue bar above the list of cash games. When you click on the Jackpots tab, you will be taken to a list of Jackpot Poker games including the “regular” games in which you can win up to 2,500 times your buy-in and the Million Dollar Jackpot games.

The Million Dollar Jackpot games are available at three buy-ins – $0.69, $6.90 and $69.00. You select how many games you want to play at your preferred stake level and, as soon as three players are registered for a game, it begins with a random prize being drawn. The prize value can vary from 2x the buy-in to 1,000x times the buy-in, or it may be the case that magical $1,000,000 prize is drawn.

Each game starts with players each having 500 chips and blinds of 10/20. The blinds increase every three minutes, so there is little opportunity to sit and wait for a premium hand before getting involved. As the blinds increase, so does the pressure to avoid being blinded out. Consequently there is a significant amount of blind-stealing and bluffing taking place during the games.

How the Prize Pool is Distributed and How Deals can be Made

In the majority of games, the random prize will be 2x, 4x, 6x, 10x or 25x the buy-in. When these prizes are drawn, only the winner gets a prize. If you finish second or third in games with a prize pool up to 25x the buy-in, you win nothing and you will have to try again. When the random prize of 100x or 1,000x the buy-in – or the $1,000,000 Jackpot prize – is drawn, you have a choice of how the prize pool is distributed.

The default distribution of prizes is 75% of the prize pool to the winner, 15% of the prize pool to the second-placed player, and 10% of the prize pool to the third-placed player. However, if all three players agree before the start of the game, the prize distribution can be amended to 40% of the prize pool to the winner and 30% of the prize pool to each of the other two players.

Due to the risk of Americas Cardroom facing multiple million dollar payouts in a short period of time, the site has put restrictions on how much can be withdrawn if you win a prize in a Million Dollar Jackpot game. Therefore, whatever prize you win in a Million Dollar Jackpot game, it will be paid to you over six months by bank wire or Bitcoin. Guess that makes sense for a responsible online poker site.
