The 2024 Ladies Poker Week in Las Vegas is now underway, and there will be a big event at the World Series of Poker to headline the week. This event is the $1,000 Ladies Championship No-Limit Hold’em event, but there will be some other great options to check out as well.
A number of different poker organizations will be putting on tournaments throughout the week, and it’s a way to highlight the best females on the live poker scene. The WSOP events are open for females as well, but this specific week will give females more options than what is normally available to them.
Women’s tournaments are going to be held all over the city as casinos are teaming up to get into the action. One of the first tournaments was held at Wynn Resorts as it was a $600 Ladies No-Limit Hold’Em Tournament.
While the biggest female names in the live poker scene will continue to play at the WSOP, this entire week will provide some great options. Casinos continue to try to push for equality with female poker players, and this week is always circled on the calendar.
Some Highlights of the Week
The Poker League of Nations has stepped up to be a leader in this event as it hosted the $40,000 Ladies Crystal Cup Championship at Resorts World Casino. A bracelet from Tiffany’s will be awarded to the winner, along with a huge cash prize.
The Venetian was the place to be on Tuesday as that was when the $600 No-Limit Hold’Em Tournament was hosted by LIPS. This is a pretty standard event during this week, and it’s one that ladies are looking forward to.
There were close to 1,300 players signed up to compete in the WSOP Ladies Championship a year ago, and that number is expected to be passed this year. Not only is a gold bracelet on the line, but there will also be a huge payout based on the number of participants.
Those that are interested in checking out the different tournaments should check with each casino that is hosting these events. Big crowds are expected at casinos throughout the city, with players and fans alike.
Alvis Wins At Summer Poker Series
Before the official start of Ladies Poker Week, there was a woman that was able to pick up a win during the Summer Poker Series. Robyn Alvis was the player that was able to pick up a win, and perhaps she is setting herself up for a big run this week as well.
Alvis won the $400 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament at the Summer Poker Series that is currently taking place at Resorts World Las Vegas. There were 777 entries across two starting flights, and Alvis was able to win nearly $50,000.
She is not a player that has had a ton of success in the live poker scene as this was only her third cash ever. What is surprising is that this was already the second tournament win for Alvis in a very limited number of tournaments.
