The ESPT Barcelona Main Event is one of the most popular post-WSOP live poker tournaments, and you can be there courtesy of Intertops Poker from just $1.10!
The ESPT Barcelona runs from August 19th – 24th and features a €1,000 + €100 buy-in Main Event (c. $1,200), which last year attracted 2,560 players and resulted in Argentinian player Matthias Ruzzi winning €198,550 (c. $220,000).
The crazy thing about the Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) when it gets to Barcelona is that the Spanish do particularly badly in their home events. Out of the dozen or so events that formed part of last year´s stop at the Barcelona, the highest achievement by a Spaniard was third place in the Senior´s Event, while only one Spanish player made it to the final table of the Main Event.
Identifying that players from all over the world perform better than the natives in Barcelona, Intertops Poker is giving players from the US the opportunity to qualify for the ESPT Main Event from as little as $1.10 and win a prize package that includes five night´s accommodation and a contribution towards travel expenses. Sounds great, but you are going to have to be quick if you want to take advantage of it!
Intertops ESPT Barcelona Final This Coming Sunday
The tournament that everybody wants to get a seat in is Sunday´s ESPT Barcelona Final. The tournament starts at 4:00pm (EDT) and has a buy-in of $100.00 + $10.00. It guarantees at least one package to the ESPT Barcelona Main Event worth $3,100, and there is likely to be plenty of cash prizes available for the runners-up.
There are two qualifying routes into the ESPT Barcelona Final. The first is a steps program which starts with buy-ins of $2.20. Players can either win their seat into Step 2 through the $2.20 tournament, or buy-in directly (for $11.00) for the Step 2 qualifier that takes place at 4:00pm (EDT) each day this week up to Saturday.
The second qualifying route is a $1.10 buy-in “Last Chance Wild West Satellite” that will be played at 1:00pm (EDT) on Sunday – just three hours before the final gets underway. The promotion to qualify players to the ESPT Barcelona has been pretty short when you consider that the Main Event does not start for another month, but to have the chance to visit Barcelona and win a life-changing amount for as little as $1.10 has to be worth a shot.
If Barcelona is Too Short Notice for You, Try This
As well as providing a cheap route to Barcelona, Intertops Poker is also hosting a promotion that qualifies players into the TK Poker Tour Main Event in St Maarten in November (TK being the initials of Thomas Kremser, the former tournament director for the World Poker Tour and European Poker Tour, and now the Chief Executive of the International Poker Federation).
Again the promotion is being run well in advance of the target event – with the steps satellites already underway for a TKPT St Maarten Final that will be played on Sunday July 26. The winner of the TKPT St Maarten Final will win a package of goodies for the November event which includes the $1,100 buy-in, five night´s accommodation at the fully-inclusive Sonesta Maho Beach Resort (for two) and $600 towards your travel expenses.
New Intertops July Reload Bonus
If you have not already topped up your Intertops account this month, the site is offering a 10% bonus on all deposits made between tomorrow (July 16th) and Sunday (July 19th). The maximum bonus players will qualify for is $300, and it is released incrementally in units of $5.00 over the next month. It is not a great offer, but it is free poker money and the bonus that you receive could pay for a satellite entry into a qualifier for the ESPT Barcelona or the TKPT St Maarten.
If you are not already playing at Intertops Poker, you should probably ask yourself why not. Intertops Poker is one of our highest rated online poker sites because of its generous 200% first deposit bonus up to $1,000 and its simple clearance structure. However, what makes a good online poker site is not necessarily the size of its bonus, and you can read the other reasons why we rate the site so highly in our review of Intertops Poker.
