Intertops Poker has packaged together some of its most popular tournaments for a special Easter Experience this weekend on the virtual felt.
Whoever is in charge of the tournament schedule at Intertops Poker does an excellent job of ensuring the schedule reflects seasonal events. Already this year we´ve had a “Three Kings on the Beach Event” (January), a “St Patrick´s Day Event” (March), and a “Tax Day Event” (April), and there was probably a St Valentine´s Day Event in February, but I was otherwise engaged.
Now the site has put together a series of its most popular tournaments to give players the ultimate “Easter Experience”. The series starts tonight (Thursday) and runs through until next Monday, when many players in Europe will be enjoying a day off due to the Easter Monday Bank Holiday (hence the earlier start times for Monday´s tournaments).
The Easter Experience Schedule
The Easter Experience schedule kicks off tonight with a “Big Batch Turbo Event” at 7:10pm (all times ET). The $8.80 buy-in Big Batch tournament gets its name from players receiving a starting stack of 25,000 chips even though blinds start at 10/20. However, it´s not going to take all night for this game to finish. Blinds increase every three minutes, and although re-buys are allowed for the first 90 minutes (plus an optional 35,000 chip add-on), by the time late registration closes blinds will be 25,000/50,000.
Friday´s event is the “Good Friday PLO Knockout Event” at 7:10pm. This $16.50 buy-in tournament is guaranteed for $900 plus a $1.00 bounty for every player you eliminate. The format of the tournament is a bit more relaxed than tonight´s event, with ten minutes levels and a gentle blind structure. Again the event has late registration open for ninety minutes, by the end of which, the starting stack of 3,000 chips will be the equivalent to five Big Blinds. Up to 100 re-entries are allowed during late registration.
Saturday´s Easter Experience consists of a 6-Max tournament starting at 4:10pm. The $5.50 buy-in “6-Max Saturday Event” has a turbo format – with blinds increasing every five minutes – and a guaranteed prize pool of $400. Contrary to what is advertised on the Intertops Poker website, this tournament is not a re-buy and add-on tournament, although up to 100 re-entries will be allowed during the 90 minutes of late registration – at the end of which, the starting stack of 5,000 chips will be worth five Big Blinds.
Due to the existing packed tournament schedule at the weekends, Easter Sunday´s “8-Max Sunday Event” is relatively modest compared with other Easter Experience tournaments. The $3.30 buy-in re-buy and add-on tournament gets underway at 4:10pm and has a guaranteed prize pool of $400. The tournament has a regular structure with ten minute levels and late registration open for 90 minutes – at the end of which there is an optional add-on of 5,000 chips available.
The first of two Easter Experience tournaments on Easter Monday is the “Bounty Quest Event”. This tournament starts at 10:10am, with the $4.40 buy-in including a $1.00 bounty for each player you knock out. The event has a slightly faster format that a regular Intertops Poker tournament, with eight minute blinds, and antes being introduced as early as Level 7. The usual 90 minutes of late registration is available, at the end of which the starting stack of 3,000 chips will be worth three Big Blinds.
The final event of Intertops Poker´s Easter Experience is an $11.00 buy-in “Easter R&A Event”. Unusually for this $750 guaranteed tournament, players have a starting stack of only 2,000 chips. Unlimited re-buys are available for the first 90 minutes, after which the option exists of a 3,000 chip add-on. The event is scheduled to start at 2:10pm which is the equivalent of 8:10pm in Central Europe, so expect a good turn-out for this event before players have to return to work on Tuesday.
Have a Happy Easter at Intertops Poker
As mentioned earlier, there is quite a packed tournament schedule planned for this coming weekend at Intertops Poker – the highlight of which is the Sunday Sundowner at 4:15pm on Sunday afternoon. This $27.50 buy-in event has a re-buy and add-on format; and, depending on how many players can tear themselves away from their Easter Sunday dinners, may struggle to meet its $4,500 guarantee.
