BetRivers Looking to Make Big Move

BetRivers is one of the biggest names in the online gaming industry, but the company is looking to make an even bigger move. Rush Street Interactive is the parent company of BetRivers, and it’s aiming to launch a new online poker option in Pennsylvania.

BetRivers Poker is expected to be live soon in Pennsylvania, and Rush Street wants to have shared liquidity between two other markets. Michigan and New Jersey already have shared liquidity pools on other sites, and BetRivers wants Pennsylvania to join into the mix.

Those states are currently in the plans for BetRivers as it aims to create a multi-state online poker market. Rush Street is going to need some help from state lawmakers as they would have to agree to sign the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement.

Rush Street could also be looking to make even more noise as it will be looking to include Delaware into the mix for the first time ever. No other site has been able to use Delaware as Rush Street is the only site legalized in that state.

A Popular Option

Online poker is already popular in the state of Pennsylvania, and it has never made sense as to why BetRivers hasn’t launched. Rush Street currently operates two brick-and-mortar casinos, but the company has never been interested in online sites.

The fact that Pennsylvania has never signed the MSIGA is one of the top reasons for the delayed launch, but RSI has also been busy in other states. BetRivers is now aiming to put pressure on lawmakers to sign the agreement as customers are going to want to get in on the action with shared liquidity.

This online poker site would have little trouble attracting players as the BetRivers name is already extremely popular in the state. Many players in the state have made it clear that they are loyal to the RSI branded casinos, and that would show up online as well.

Not only could RSI grow into one of the most popular online poker sites, but it could also help the brick and mortar sites as well. Players could have some special rewards opportunities by playing both online and in-person, and that is a strategy that has worked well for other sites.
