BetOnline Poker has chosen the Veterans Day holiday to launch “Epic Mondays” which will feature higher-than-usual guarantees for twelve scheduled tournaments.
BetOnline Poker´s tournament schedule has gone through some significant improvements recently. Not only has there been a reduction in the reliance on re-buy and add-on tournaments to meet guarantees, there has also been some new formats added to the schedule to increase the variety of tournaments and a reduction in the amount of rake taken from tournament buy-ins – resulting in more of the buy-in being added to the prize pool.
Now the site has announced it is increasing the prize pool guarantees of selected events by up to 100 percent on Mondays starting November 11th. The reasoning behind using Veterans Day as a launch pad for “Epic Mondays” is that many players will be off work, and the initial increases in the guarantees are more likely to be met. Thereafter, however, the likelihood is there will be multiple overlays in Monday´s tournament schedule for players who are availability to play the daytime events.

Each of the events in the Epic Monday tournament schedule will be highlighted in the tournament lobby by the word “Epic”. It is not known yet whether BetOnline Poker will add a new icon under the “Type” column to help identify tournaments with enhanced guarantees; and this would certainly be a help because, since the improvements were made, the tournament lobby is starting to look a bit cluttered.

Note: $5.50 of the buy-in for the 3:45pm is allocated to the bounty on each player´s head. Unlike some other sites, BetOnline Poker does not include the amount of the bounties in the guarantee. Therefore, if one hundred players enter the tournament, the total prize money on the table is the $1,000 guaranteed prize pool plus $550 in knockout bounties.
