BetOnline Poker is hosting a special night of freeroll tournaments for players who refer friends to the site – but watch out for those terms and conditions.
If you play at BetOnline Poker, often when you log out of your account you are invited to refer a friend; and – if the friend makes a qualifying deposit – you can take advantage of a “refer-a-friend” poker bonus up to $100 on your next deposit. However, between now and July 31st, there is an extra incentive to send a friend to BetOnline Poker – a special “Referral Night” of freeroll tournaments.
The Referral Night itself takes place on Saturday August 3rd and consists of three freeroll tournaments scheduled for 6:00pm (all times ET). One tournament is for new players referred to BetOnline Poker (prize pool $1,000), one is for existing players who referred a friend (prize pool $1,500), and one is for existing players who referred two or more friends (prize pool $2,500).
Watch Out for those Terms and Conditions
Although the prize money is not astounding, it´s not a bad offer if you know of some people that would enjoy playing at the site. Furthermore it demonstrates BetOnline Poker´s commitment to building up its player database and increasing liquidity at the tables. However, there is a stack of terms and conditions to comply with before you become eligible for the refer-a-friend poker bonus or a freeroll entry, and I suggest you read these before sharing your contacts list with BetOnline Poker. Key terms include:
- This offer is only available to players in the USA and Canada.
- Your friend must deposit at least $25 and roll it over once.
- Your friend can´t live in the same street or share the same IP address.
- In light of the above, nether the referring player nor the friend can use VPNs.
- BetOnline may request proof of ID before awarding the bonus or freeroll entry.
How to Refer-a-Friend to BetOnline Poker
If you are happy with the terms and conditions, the process for referring-a-friend is to log into your account via the BetOnline Poker website (not the poker client) and click on the Poker tab. You will see a panel advertising the Referral Night promotion on the left hand side of the page. Click on “Refer Now” to access the promotion page and click on “Refer Now” on the promotion page to visit the referral page.
On the referral page, select the poker refer-a-friend bonus and you than have a choice of options about how you want to refer friends. You can either enter their names and email addresses from your contacts list – which will prompt BetOnline Poker to send them an email inviting them to register for an account – or you can send invites to your Facebook friends and Twitter followers via social media.
The process is very simple, but it is a good idea to check with your friends they are happy for you to share their email addresses before giving them to BetOnline. In these days of phishing emails, online scams, and malware, they might unintentionally report a bona fide invitation as a fake, which might reflect badly on you for referring them. Also, it´s a nice courtesy to ask first.
Why Have All the Fun Yourself When You Can Share It
Most experiences are best shared, and this opportunity from BetOnline to engage some of your friends in online poker could be a good idea.
