The Super Storm Main Event is a massive online poker tournament coming up at 888poker. The event will have a $1 million guaranteed prize pool and a small buy-in of just $100. The event will have a whopping 21 opening flights with the first day set for March 1st. The last opening flight will take place on March 21st. The online poker room wants to make sure a ton of players can compete, so they are offering several special ways to get in on the action.
Online Qualifiers
Every day at 888poker, players can access to free tickets to online qualifiers. To be able to receive the tickets, players have a few options. First, play in poker tournaments with a buy-in of $3. This includes the BLAST options. Players can also bet $5 in casino games or on sports. Lastly, when a game is won in a cash game with pocket aces, of minimum stakes 2c/5c, and the hand goes to the flop, a ticket is earned.
When players have their online qualifier tickets, they can then be used to enter the $1 million Super Storm Main Event Freeroll. This freeroll takes place each day at 6:25 GMT, so players can come back day after day to earn the free tickets and compete.
With every event, there are up to 50 tickets up for grabs. This means there is real potential for players to earn a spot in the Main Event via the free tickets.
Super Storm Main Event Details
Once the Main Event is in full swing, players will be given 10,000 in starting chips. Blinds will move up slowly every 20 minutes. Players competing have the opportunity to re-enter in the event up to three times during each opening flight.
On each opening day, gameplay will end after 11 blind levels have taken place. Players who still have chips will be able to advance on to Day 2. This will be March 22nd at 7:30 pm GMT. The action will then start at blind level 12 and feature 20 minute blind levels. Gameplay will continue in this manner until the winner is named.
With so much opportunity to take part, and the option to re-enter more than once, it will not be surprising to see the guaranteed prize pool of this event quickly surpass the $1 million mark. Players still have plenty of time to take part in the online qualifiers and vie for this spot in the big event.
On top of the options already mentioned, 888poker is also offering a daily spinner where prizes are up for grabs including tickets to special events. Tickets are up for grabs for the $1M Super Storm BLAST Freeroll, with 600 tickets each day. Players can also win tickets to the Main Event directly, but not as many will be up for grabs via the daily spinner.
