NFL Showdown: Seattle Seahawks vs. Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview

In a potential game of the week matchup, the Ravens and Seahawks will square up. This should be an exciting one to watch with two of the most explosive quarterbacks in the League. Seattle has played in several close games and came out on top in most of them, showing that they are a serious threat this season. Baltimore is in a wide-open AFC North division this season and they could set themselves apart even more with a big win this week.

Ravens

Baltimore is off to a 4-2 start this season, they picked up a win over the Bengals after a two-game skid against the Chiefs and Browns. They have already played everyone in their division once, and they’re still missing a staple win that shows how good they really are. They have wins over the Bengals, Cardinals, Steelers, and Dolphins so a win here could show the league how dangerous they are.

The Ravens were able to pick up Marcus Peters from the Rams this week to help them solidify their secondary while they have three corners, including Jimmy Smith on their injury list. Their defense has allowed 282.2 yards passing per game along with 80.7 rushing yards.

On offense the Ravens have averaged 260 yards passing and an impressive 205 rushing per game behind their duel-threat quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson has thrown for 1507 yards, 11 touchdowns and 5 interceptions this season with a 65% completion rate. He also leads their team in rushing with 460 yards and two touchdowns.

Jackson’s top target so far this year has been their tight end Mark Andrews. The 24-year-old has 34 receptions for 410 yards and 3 touchdowns. The other guy to watch for in this one on offense is their rookie Marquise Brown who has been explosive for them all season.

Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks enter this week’s matchup with a 5-1 record after winning many tight games this season. A missed last second field goal gave them a win over their division rival Rams two weeks ago and a back and forth game with the Browns last week ended in a 32-28 victory.

The Seahawks are led once again by their quarterback Russell Wilson, who is having his best season to date and is right in the middle of the MVP conversation. He has tossed for 1,704 yards with 14 touchdowns and zero interceptions this season. More than stats, what Wilson brings to the team is his creativity and ability to keep plays alive behind an offensive line with two starters currently on the injury report.

Chris Carson has been doing well for the Seahawks this year, helping take some of the weight off of Wilson’s shoulders for the first time in a long time. Carson has 118 attempts already this season for 504 yards and 2 touchdowns, giving him a 4.3 yard per carry average. If he can establish the run in this game, it should keep Lamar Jackson off the field and give Seattle a much better chance.

The top target at receiver this year for the Seahawks has been Tyler Lockett. The veteran has 35 catches for 454 yards and 3 touchdowns. A guy the ravens cannot sleep on in this one is the Seattle rookie, D.K. Metcalf. Metcalf will most likely be lined up on Marcus Peters, who he has already faced once this year with the Rams.

What to expect

This should be a great game to watch with two very exciting quarterbacks. I would expect the experience of the Seahawks and specifically Russell Wilson to keep them in this game and eventually get them the win. The Ravens have not proved enough to me this season for me to put confidence in them getting a win in Seattle.
