International Gaming Technology (IGT) has signed a new ten-year deal with Sony Pictures for exclusive rights on Wheel of Fortune, also trademarked as America's Game ™. This deal will allow IGT to distribute Wheel of Fortune content to social casinos.
This is not the first time IGT and Sony Pictures are partnering. In fact, the two have worked together for the past 25 years. During that time, Sony Pictures delivered an extensive portfolio of Wheel of Fortune games.
This game has become the industry standard for innovation and a leader in performance. It has generated a lot of winnings for players too.
Ideally, players across the world have won over $3.5 billion from playing Wheel of Fortune slots. Over 1000 players have also won $1 million jackpots.
The Deal Becomes Effective in 2025
America's Game™ or Wheel of Fortune slots is a successful theme. In fact, it stands at the top of the leaderboard. This explains why IGT wants exclusive iGaming, iLottery, and gaming access to the brand until 2034.
The ten-year deal starts in 2025. According to the Global Gaming CEO at IGT, the deal between Sony Pictures and the gaming supplier will help the latter to maximize returns. The licensing partnership will also help IGT advance its legacy of creating the first omnichannel in the U.S.
IGT introduced the wide area progressive jackpot in the country through a Wheel of Fortune slots link in the Garden State. This omnichannel will allow players in New Jersey to play for large-scale jackpots on games.
Ideally, players will capitalize on pooled jackpot liquidity between online/mobile and physical versions of Wheel of Fortune slots from IGT. New Jersey players can play Wheel of Fortune, Gold Spin, and Triple Gold on PlayDigital, a mobile and online IGT platform.
Already, Wheel of Fortune, Triple Gold, and Gold Spin have rapidly growing jackpots. These slots have also effectively attracted a large player pool.
Those who wish to play at land-based casinos were not left behind. There are three wide area progressive links including a $500k jackpot reset value, Wheel of Fortune $1 games, and 18 different themes across Garden State casinos.
Banking on the New Omnichannel Link
The president of iGaming at IGT, Gil Rotem, noted there was no better time to launch the IGT omnichannel version of Wheel of Fortune. Gil said that the U.S. iGaming market was growing steadily, making this the best time to enhance PlayDigital portfolio for the Garden State with an omnichannel jackpot.
Speaking about the first omnichannel in the U.S. Gil said that IGT was the only firm with experience to offer wide area progressive links and multi-platform gaming experience.
IGT is running another omnichannel progressive jackpot in Canada. It was the first wide area progressive jackpot the company launched in 2016. The Powerbucks link has had over 48 jackpots in Canada.
The chief operating officer at IGT, Nick Khin, highlighted the success of the omnichannel wide area progressive jackpot in Canada, hoping the new link in New Jersey will see the same success. Nick hopes operators and players will embrace the new omnichannel link.
