For casinos to stay relevant and exciting, they must provide something new and inviting to players. In the United States, this is usually done via promotions or new game launches. When something new is added, players get excited and want to visit more often. The Harrah’s Resort Southern California has decided to add something new to table games so players will be more enticed to visit. The Valley Center facility has started a new Impressive Progressive where players can win a jackpot ranging from $500,000 to $1 million!
New Gaming Option
The unique progressive option is not connected to one table game or a specific game. The casino has a total of 50 non-electronic table games that are tied to jackpots. Each of these games are connected to the special progressive.
Players can wager $5 and they can hit the progressive on any of the tables. The progressive will continue to grow, like a standard jackpot, as players post the extra bet. The more players that take part, the higher the jackpot can be. Once it is triggered, the lucky winner earns a huge prize!
According to Victor Li, the Director of Table Games at the casino, each of the table games has multiple progressive jackpots that are available. The jackpots can be hit at different frequencies. The jackpot must be hit by a meter.
The meter starts at $@50 and it must be given to a guest before it passed the $500 mark. So far, the casino has already given out over $280,000 in prizes from the progressive option. It only launched a few weeks ago but it has already proven to be quite popular among players.
The Harrah’s Casino has a 90-day exclusivity right in the county and has partnered with Scientific Games to offer the progressive option.
Bringing in Players
Right now, casinos like the Harrah’s needs something to bring in players. With COVID-19 still a big issue across the United States, casinos that have remained open need promotions or exciting offers to bring players in to take part.
Casinos in California where the Harrah’s is located as well as throughout the US have been affected greatly by the virus. Hundreds of millions in revenues were lost and continue to be lost today. Operators are having trouble bringing players in as many are still afraid to be out and about while the virus remains strong and highly contagious.
Most every casino in the nation was shut down in March when the pandemic began and that is when the revenue losses were the heaviest. Starting in May, casinos began reopening, but already venues are shutting down as case counts increase yet again.
For Harrah’s in California, at least there is an option that is bringing players in to take part in gaming in a safe environment. The venue remains open for now as restrictions have not changed in the state. It will be interesting to see how large the jackpot goes for and how high the prize pool goes. Hopefully, the casino can remain open players will be able to test their luck and hopefully earn a prize!
