It is barely six months since Full House Resorts opened the temporary casino in Waukegan, Illinois. Yet, the temporary casino has climbed the ranks, becoming Illinois's third most popular gaming facility.
Two months into this year, Full House Resorts launched the temporary version of American Place. Despite being the newest gaming site, this casino is drawing over 70,000 players to its floor.
The casino has recorded an average of 300 more players than the Hollywood Casino Aurora and over 1,800 more players than Casino Queen. These two casinos launched in 1993. According to the Illinois Gaming Board, American Place ranks sixth in monthly gaming revenue.
Rivers Casino in Des Plaines is still the Illinois leader. Operated by Rush Street Gaming, Rivers draws the most players and generates the most monthly revenue. But, the newest kid on the block is doing well.
The temporary version of American Place is generating an average of $7.5 million each month. This shows that the casino is off to a good start.
The temporary casino holds 1,000 slot machines and 50 table games. All these will be transferred to the permanent location. Full House also had to purchase ten acres next to 29 acres of casino land that the operator will lease from the City of Waukegan.
Football May Increase Attendance at American Place
Analysts predict that attendance will grow at the temporary casino once Circa Sports launches in August. The sportsbook is partnering with Full House to bring retail sports betting to American Place.
Considering Circa is a big brand from Las Vegas, it could contribute to the massive growth of American Place. According to analysts, Circa would be an enhancement to the temporary casino. Moreover, it could generate more revenue than all other properties in Full House's portfolio.
Some analysts believe the temporary casino is good enough to attract players with a sportsbook. They believe that once players step inside the property, they will be more enthusiastic about visiting the permanent casino once it is operational.
According to David Bain, FLL will probably increase its marketing funds to grow its traffic. The temporary casino will gain new and repeat clients. Moreover, patrons will increase their spending at the casino.
The Temporary Casino Has Economic Benefits
Illinois expanded gaming to earn extra revenue. This decision has paid off because the $100 million temporary casino is delivering.
The casino has generated over $3.5 million in tax revenue for Illinois. It has also generated $1.5 million for Waukegan, Park City, and North Chicago.
With a new sportsbook coming soon, this revenue could jump to a new high. Moreover, new dining venues will contribute to the revenue growth too. This figure may rise again once American Place moves to its permanent location.
Apart from the casino in Illinois, Full House operates Silver Slippers in Mississippi, Bronco Billy's in Cripple Creek, Colorado, Chamonix Casino Hotel near Bronco Billy's, and gaming properties in Indiana and Nevada. Considering the revenues generated by these casinos, the newest casino in Illinois could be Full House's goldmine.
