March 1, 2023, marks the beginning of Problem Gambling Awareness Month. So, BetMGM choosing the date to launch its responsible gambling campaign hit the nail on the head. These responsible gaming messages will be featured on the operator`s mobile app and BetMGM advertisements.
For instance, the operator uses print, radio, television, and billboard for advertising its content. By working with GameSense, BetMGM will find ways to incorporate responsible gambling messages into its advertisements. The messages will also be featured on digital and social platforms belonging to the gaming operator.
Committed to Promoting Responsible Gaming
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said that his company was committed to leading the gambling industry in encouraging responsible gaming. He explained that it was crucial to equip players with responsible gambling tools and resources, especially at a time when the online gaming industry and legalization of gambling were rapidly growing.
Adam noted that it was not enough to provide responsible gambling tools. He thought it was essential to showcase responsible gaming in its gaming advertisements.
The CEO described his announcement as significant. He hoped that other operators would emulate the action.
Adam explained that he was aware that putting responsible gambling messages on banners and other advertisement platforms was insufficient. He noted that research was crucial, as it would help deal with problem gambling.
Greenblatt insisted that the company was committed to protecting players, so it partnered with The International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG). The partnership will help BetMGM understand and deal with problem gambling and advertising issues.
For instance, BetMGM provided The International Center for Responsible Gaming with a grant showing its research on the impacts of advertising on problem gambling. The gaming operator will continue collaborating with the ICRG.
Partnership with GameSense
Another organization BetMGM has partnered with to promote responsible gaming is GameSense. This industry-leading program focuses on proactive, positive, and transparent conversations with players about responsible gaming.
BetMGM has integrated GameSense into its platforms to provide players with the tools to practice responsible gaming. For instance, players on BetMGM platforms can set the maximum amount they can gamble in a day, week, or month.
This will help players stick to their budgets even when on a winning streak. There are many other tools incorporated into BetMGM platforms.
Apart from that, GameSense will dispel gambling myths. The program will also educate players on basic gambling rules and provide resources to players and their families to connect with GameSense Advisors.
