PokerStars has been quite busy as of late, ramping up their online poker offering in the wake of the coronavirus. Players are at home now more than ever, so options for gaming have been increased across the board. A traditional event this time of year for PokerStars is the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP). For the 2020 edition, the series will offer $85 million in guaranteed prize money, a ridiculously high amount spread out over events running from April 30th through May 19th.
SCOOP Details
The schedule of the upcoming SCOOP is full of action, including $13 million on offer via the three Main Events. The Main Events will run on May 17th and will offer three options for players to consider. Players can buy-in for $109, $1,050 and $10,300. The Super High Roller is another event to look forward to, one offering $2 million in guaranteed prize money.
Overall, the series has 80 numbered events. For each event, there are three options. So, essentially, there will be 240 tournaments taking place. Players will find several variants on offer along side the typical no-limit hold’em, including progressive knockouts and more.
One of the first events to take place is an 8-max progressive knockout mini Thursday Thrill SE. This event has a $22 buy-in offering a $300,000 prize pool, $215 buy-in with $750,000 up for grabs and a $2,100 buy-in with a million in prize money.
Players will want to log in on May 3rd, to take part in the Sunday Million offering. The mini version will have a $22 buy-in with $275,000 in prize money on offer. Choose to compete in the $215 event and play for one million in prize money. The $2,100 Sunday event will also feature a one million prize.
Satellites on Offer
For players who want to take part at a lower buy-in, PokerStars will be offering satellites. Tickets to SCOOP events can be won via Spin & Go tournaments along with other options to be added at the site shortly. Reportedly, PokerStars will be offering step satellites in the poker client as a lead-up to a tournament event.

It is expected that players will be logging in at record numbers to compete in the 2020 SCOOP.
