It was last summer that online casinos began launching in Pennsylvania. Only a handful of operators were ready to go by the July 15th date, but they did not hesitate to get going. Problems did arise, such as issues with iOS and smaller portfolios of games, but players were ready to play so operators launched. Since that time, existing operators have added new content to beef up their offering while others are launching for the very first time. Caesars Entertainment recently launched their Caesars Online Casino in the state, via a partnership with Harrah’s Philadelphia.
Great Launch Period
The Caesars Online Casino launches at a great time period, when the land-based casinos are closed due to the state mandated shutdown because of the coronavirus spread. With players out of land-based gaming options, they are making the switch to online play. For the operator, it launched at the right time, when players are logging on in record numbers to online gaming sites.
Just recently, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced that online revenue reports for March showed a 24.5% increase in earnings when compared to the $19.5 million earned in February. For Caesars, the soft-launch period was completed before yesterday, so the site is good to go 24/7.
What They Offer
Visitors to the Caesars Online Casino site will have access to iGaming via a platform powered by Scientific Games. So far, the site has 12 slot games. This is by far probably not what players were expecting but it seems to be the norm for new sites in the state. In the future, we can expect more slot games to be added along with video poker and table games. We should see the operator offer a ton of games, as the New Jersey online gaming platform offers more than 500 games.
The online casino site is the first to launch since the first of the year when BetRivers, BetAmerica and Unibet began offering services. Players can access the gaming platform via desktop as well as Android devices. The casino is not offered via iOS at the moment.
It is unclear as to if Caesars will be launching an online poker site. They do own the WSOP brand so it would be expected that they would provide online poker gaming. However, no word has been provided as to a site being created for WSOP poker in Pennsylvania.
For depositing and withdrawal, players have several options via the Caesars site. For depositing, Caesars is offering ACH, PayPal, PayNearMe, Credit and debit cards, online banking and Play+. For withdrawal, players can use ACH as well along with PayPal and the Caesars Casino and Sportsbook Play+ card. Players also have the option to withdraw via cash at the casino cage at Harrah’s, however, the casino is closed at this time.
