Ignition Poker is giving players the opportunity to top up their accounts prior to the 4th July with a special edition of its Wild Wednesday tournament series.
Ignition Poker´s regular tournament schedule is already pretty good; but, on Wednesday 3rd July, the action gets even hotter with a special edition of the site´s Wild Wednesday series. Over the course of fifteen hours, Ignition Poker will squeeze eighteen Wild Wednesday tournaments into its schedule – giving players the opportunity to share in more than $300,000 prize money.
As well as being rich in prize pools, the tournaments are also rich in variety. There´s a good mix of speeds and formats, plus a PLO Extra Play tournament scheduled for the early evening which will be on many players´ radar. There´s a good mix of buy-ins too; from an $11.00 buy-in mid-evening event, to the $270 buy-in Wild Wednesday Main Event – for which satellites are already running.
An Early Start, But It Could be Worth It
Because Ignition Poker is available for players in Australia, the action is scheduled to start at 8:26am (ET) which is 8:26pm in Western Australia and 10:26pm along the East Coast of Australia. Ironically, considering it´s almost bedtime in Sydney, the opening tournament of the series has been given the name the “Early Bird Main Event” and consists of an $82 buy-in NL Hold´em tournament with $7,000 in prize money.
Thereafter, the next ten tournaments get underway every hour; so, if you are able to play during the mid-morning hours in the U.S., you could well benefit from some sleepy Australians not being fully focused. Of course, the Australians may get their own back during the events starting later in the U.S. evening; as by the time the most valuable events reach their Final Tables, it will be mid-morning on the other side of the world.
The $75,000 Guaranteed Main Event
The $75,000 guaranteed Wild Wednesday Main Event gets underway at 7:06pm (ET). As mentioned above, it has a direct buy-in of $270, or you can qualify for the tournament via a host of satellites currently running in the Ignition Poker client. The tournament is a pure freezeout inasmuch as there are no re-entries or re-buys allowed, and although it can be advantageous to get involved in the action at the start of the event, there is nearly 4½ hours of late registration.
For players who would prefer their action to finish before the early hours of the morning, there is an intriguing 50/50 tournament scheduled for 7:26pm (ET). In this event, the top 50% of players will receive approximately 1.5 times their $135 buy-in back, while the 9 players who reach the final table will battle it out for the remaining 25% of the $15,000 of the guaranteed prize pool. With only two hours of late registration, this tournament should be well over before bedtime.
