There is a good choice of promotions this weekend at USA friendly poker sites ranging from valuable tournaments to opportunities to win a trip to the Caribbean.
If you are sheltering from the “Storm Train” battering the West Coast, the snow in Arizona (!), or the sub-zero temperatures hitting the East Coast this weekend, there is a good choice of promotions running at USA friendly poker sites that could contribute towards your heating bill or send you to a far warmer climate.
Furthermore, you don´t have to have a big bankroll to take part in any pf the promotions. Each of the promotions featured below have low buy-in satellites feeding into them, and each of the sites hosting the promotions also offer generous first deposit bonuses – meaning that you could be a winner twice over if the cards fall kindly for you.
Winning Poker Network´s $200K Event
As usual, the most valuable tournament of the weekend takes place on the Winning Poker Network. Although it´s not guaranteed for a million dollars, Sunday´s feature tournament (the “Warm Up”) has a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool and is supported by a recently-improved schedule which includes the $150,000 guaranteed “Sunday Special” and $50,000 guaranteed “High Rollers” tournaments.
There is also another opportunity to qualify for the Network´s Live Cage events on Sunday evening when the $55.00 buy-in Beast & SNC qualifier will give out three packages worth $8,340 each. Winning players looking to escape the dreadful weather can use their package to play in Costa Rica on the last weekend in January, or wait to play in one of five further Live Cage events scheduled for later in the year.
New Year Mini Series at Bovada and Ignition
The New Year Mini Series reaches its conclusion at Bovada Poker and Ignition Poker this weekend with eleven feature tournaments spread over Saturday and Sunday.
In total, there is nearly $325,000 up for grabs in guaranteed prize pools and – as the series is designed to have something for everyone – buy-ins range from $11.00 up to $325.00. Watch out also for the 2019 theme running through the events.
Rake-free “Cheap Seats” sub-satellites for the feature events start at just $1.00, and all the tournaments in the New Year Mini Series have a new payout structure in which at least 20% of the field will be in the money. Although this means you won´t win quite so much money if you finish in one of the top positions, the deeper payout structure helps make your bankroll go further.
Freeroll into BetOnline Poker´s Sunday Main Event
Although there is not so much money on the tables at BetOnline Poker, players have the opportunity to win a share of it for free by playing in tonight´s feeder into the Sunday Main Event Steps Program. Fifty players will win tickets into Step 1 Sit & Go games, with the winner of each game progressing onto Step 2 and Step 3. The winner of each Step 3 games wins a seat in Sunday´s $60,000 guaranteed tournament.
If you don´t fancy your odds in the Main Event Steps Program, BetOnline Poker hosts a mega-satellite for the Main Event each Saturday afternoon guaranteeing a minimum of forty seats into the target event. Due to the timing of this $16.50 buy-in satellite, it rarely attracts a lot of players; so there is a better chance of qualifying for the Main Event using this route.
Three Kings on the Beach at Intertops Poker
You won´t actually spend Three Kings on the beach if you win Sunday´s 4:00pm (ET) tournament at Intertops Poker.
Instead your prize will be a trip to St. Maarten in March to play in the WSOPC Caribbean Main Event – which isn´t a bad prize for the $110 buy-in; plus your winnings could be much more if you cash in the $250,000 guaranteed target tournament.
For one lucky player, the opportunity exists to turn a $2.20 buy-in into the experience of a lifetime, as Intertops Poker will be hosting a “Wild West Last Chance Satellite” at 11:05am (ET) on the morning of the Three Kings on the Beach tournament, guaranteeing one seat into the target event. If you have never played this satellite before, be prepared for a Wild ride!
Which Site(s) Will You Play on this Weekend?
With plenty of options available, the question is which site(s) will you play on this weekend? Of course, you are not limited to one option or the other and, in theory, you could take advantage of every available promotion.
