The Beast will be a daily event from this coming Saturday, giving players who can only hit the tables at weekends a better chance to benefit from the promotion.
One of the more popular promotions across sites on the Winning Poker Network (WPN) is the Beast – a progressive rake race which is fed from a percentage of the rake deducted from cash games. Since The Beast´s launch in 2012, it has paid out more than $17 million in cash prizes and tournament tickets – giving players the chance to qualify for other events in WPN´s promotional calendar.
Over the past couple of years, the Beast has been a weekly event, running from Saturday to Friday. But, from next Saturday 4th November, the Network will be running the event on a daily basis for the remainder of the month. If player feedback from the change is positive, the daily Beast rake race could become a permanent fixture at Americas Cardroom, Black Chip Poker, Ya Poker and True Poker.
How the Change to a Daily Event Will Benefit Players
The way the Beast is currently structured means you could put in a couple of long sessions on Saturday and Sunday, earn loads of Beast Points and be on top of the leaderboard by Monday morning, only to find you get a third or fourth tier payout ($250 and $100 respectively) the following Friday. With the Beast changing to a daily rake race, the opportunity now exists to win a cash prize up to $500 on both Saturday and Sunday.
The change to the Beast´s structure will not only benefit weekend players. Currently, the most a player can win from the promotion in a week is capped at $2,500. So, if you were to top the leaderboard every day of the week, the maximum cash prize you could win would increase by $1,000 (7 x $500). There will also be benefits for midweek players who don´t put in the top levels of volume, but who could win multiple Tier 3 and Tier 4 prizes (of $50 and $25 respectively) rather than one cash prize of $100.

If you are unfamiliar with how the tier structure works, the daily Beast race will be seeded with $550 each day (one Tier 1 prize and one Tier 3 prize). For each $2,200 contributed to progressive prize pool, one extra cash prize will be added to Tier 1, two extra cash prizes will be added to Tier 2, five extra cash prizes added to Tier 3, and twenty extra cash prizes added to Tier 4. Any residual amounts (fractions of $2,200) will be distributed between the top players in Tiers 2, 3, and 4.
Beast & Sit N Crush Satellites also Undergoing Changes
In addition to the cash prizes awarded each day, the Network will be awarding tournament tickets to a Beast & Sit N Crush Super Satellite that takes place each evening at 7:00 pm (all times ET). This new Super Satellite will award five tickets into a revised Beast & Sit N Crush Live Cage Satellite on Sundays at 6:00 pm. You can also buy in directly for $630 (instead of the current $55.00), and it still awards three packages worth $8,340 to the Network´s Costa Rica Live Cage events.
There has been no announcement yet about changes to the Sit N Crush leaderboard promotion that currently feeds into the weekly Live Cage Satellite. The likelihood is this will also become a daily event with fewer cash prize Tiers than the Beast to make it worthwhile for players to put in the volume. However, it is unlikely the Network will change the Double Points players receive for playing in On Demand tournaments as these are proving to be incredibly popular at the minute.
