The Winning Poker Network is capitalizing on the success of the OSS Cub3d series with a new High Five tournament series carrying a $1.4 million guarantee.
If you have been following events at Americas Cardroom and Black Chip Poker, you will be aware the two leading sites on the Winning Poker Network have just concluded a hugely successful OSS Cub3d series in which the three Million Dollar Sunday events all smashed their guarantees.
Since the end of the series, the sites´ marketing teams have enjoyed a well-earned rest at the network-sponsored Punta Cana Poker Classic. Now the marketing teams are back and – capitalizing on the success of OSS Cub3d – has announced a “High Five” tournament series for the end of November.
More about the November High Five Series
The November High Five series consists of five feature events on five consecutive nights starting from Wednesday 22nd November. The twenty-five tournaments are incredibly varied in their formats and include Superstack Hyper-Turbo events, NL Omaha Hi/Lo events and Knockout events among the selection of 4-Max, 6-Max, 8-Max and full-ring tournaments.
There is also a wide range of buy-ins to enable players of all bankrolls to join in with the action starting at $2.20. In addition, the Network will soon be releasing the series satellite schedule so that players aiming for the bigger prizes will be able to qualify for pennies on the dollar. The satellite schedule often includes “Freebuy” opportunities and is well worth looking out for.
The November 2017 High Five Main Event
The November 2017 High Five Main Event is scheduled for Sunday 26th November at 4:20pm. It has a buy-in of $420 + $30 and is guaranteed for $420,000 – a fairly modest guarantee compared with what the Network has achieved recently. However, in response to feedback from players, the Main Event will only have three hours of late registration rather than the usual five hours.
The Main Event and its companion Warm-Up Event (starting at 1:00pm ET on Sunday 26th) contribute more than half of the total series $1.4 million guarantee; and, in addition to winning the lion´s share of the prize money, the winner of the Main Event will be awarded a High Five sterling silver bracelet engraved on the back with the words “I Smoked the High Five”.
Series Supported by High Five Big 10
The High Five Series will not be the only reason players have to visit Americas Cardroom and Black Chip Poker between Wednesday 22nd and Sunday 27th November. Alongside the feature series, the Network will be hosting a special edition of its Big 10 tournaments. These tournaments start hourly from 3:00pm each day (ten tournaments per day) and integrate nicely with the High Five schedule.
Typically, Big 10 tournaments cater for players who prefer to focus on regular NL Texas Hold´em free of gimmicks. They also have generally lower buy-ins while maintaining valuable guaranteed prize pools. The fifty High Five Big 10 events have combined guaranteed prize pools of $564,000 – bringing the total amount of money on the tables over the five days of the High Five series to almost $2 million.
Will You Smoke the High Five in November?
With seventy-five tournaments over five days guaranteeing almost $2 million in prize money – plus the regular tournament schedule – the end of November is guaranteed to be action-packed. Hundreds of opportunities will soon to be released for players to satellite into the feature High Five events; so keep an eye out for these when you next visit sites on the Winning Poker Network.
Prior to the November High Five series, the Network hosts the most valuable weekend tournaments for players in the US. These include the $150,000 guaranteed Sunday Special which has a host of last-minute satellites guaranteeing more than fifty seats into the target event. Even if you don´t smoke the High Five in November, there are plenty of opportunities at the Winning Poker Network all the time.
