FanDuel is a former daily fantasy sports company that has spread their wings into other realms of gambling. The company is very successful in New Jersey as a provider of sports betting and they have quickly started to offer services in other states, including Pennsylvania. The company just recently completed the testing phase for their online sportsbook in Pennsylvania, officially launching their sports betting product.
Fully Operational
FanDuel is working with Valley Forge Casino Resort when it comes to sports betting services. They launched their online site last week and were to complete a testing phase before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board would give the go ahead for the site to be fully operational. During the testing phase, regulators are looking for any issues or problems the site may have before giving the green light.
FanDuel CMO Mike Raffensperger commented on the launch in Pennsylvania by stating that the company is leveraging their expertise to create world-class fantasy and sports betting experiences to create the best online sports betting platform in the state.
Sports Betting Leader
FanDuel wasted no time in getting started in the sports betting industry once the option became available across the board in the US. They launched first in New Jersey and in a short period of time, were able to gain a market stronghold. They hope to see the same result in Pennsylvania. With the launch, the company has also included an omni-channel marketing campaign, set to push the new offering via sports talk radio, influencer marketing, outdoor advertising, social media and more.
FanDuel has a habit of focusing on customer experience and plan to go the same route in Pennsylvania. With a similar strategy to New Jersey, the company should do quite well with their sports betting offering.
FanDuel was also one of the first in Pennsylvania to launch an iOS app for sports betting. Earlier in the year, Apple announced changes within their guidelines regarding the App Store and gambling applications. The guidelines have seen operators make certain changes in order to adhere to what Apple requires. Creating an appropriate app takes time and FanDuel was able to be one of the first ones to be ready to offer the right options.
Now with the online site in full swing, it will be interesting to see how the year plays out for FanDuel and the sports betting industry as a whole in Pennsylvania. The online component was launched much later than land-based gaming and will certainly give revenues a push in the positive direction.
Players tend to lean towards mobile and online sports betting as it is more convenient than traveling to a casino to place a wager. With the online component, players can easily place a sports bet from anywhere. The convenience provides every player with access, especially those who are further from a gaming venue or unable to travel on a regular basis to place bets.
