Intertops Poker is providing players with the opportunity to win a package to the Gioco Digitale WPT National in Venice between 4th and 7th December.
It is not unusual for Intertops to run promotions that qualify players into valuable live events. Already this year players have competed at the record-breaking ESPT Barcelona courtesy of the site, and next month two more players will be heading to the Caribbean to take part in the TK Poker Tour Main Event in St Maarten after winning their seats on Intertops Poker.
What is different about this promotion is that it is specifically timed to appeal to European players. Qualifiers are scheduled to take place during the European evening and the final of the promotion is bang on peak European playing time. Although Intertops Poker has a fair following in Europe, the timing of this promotion could provide some superb value for US players intending to take a pre-Christmas trip to Italy!
How the Promotion Works
Regular players at Intertops Poker should by now be familiar with the three-stage qualifying structure. The winners of Step 1 sub-satellites get to play in a daily Step 2 satellites, which feed into one big final tournament with at least one package guaranteed to the target event.
The package on this occasion consists of the €990 buy-in into the Gioco Digitale WPT Venice National Main Event at the Casino di Venezia Ca Vendramin Calergi, four nights’ accommodation for two in a premium hotel close to the casino, and $500 towards travel expenses – so it is well worth winning.
Step 1 sub-satellites and Step 2 satellites start tomorrow (October 7th) with buy-ins of $2.20 and $11.00 respectively. The sub-satellites are scheduled for 7:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm and 5:00pm (all times EST), with daily finals taking place at 3:00pm (EST) until October 17th.
The final takes place on Sunday October 18th at 1:00pm (EST), and can be bought into directly for $110.00 if you have not been able to qualify via any of the satellite routes. A minimum of one package is guaranteed, with further packages being added for each $2,200 in the prize pool.
About the Gioco Digitale WPT National Venice
This be the fifth time that the Casino di Venezia has hosted the WPT National Venice, with the event unsurprisingly being dominated by Italian players in the past. The biggest field to date was when 404 players entered the March 2014 Main Event, creating a $484,000 prize pool. The winner of the event – Allessandro Minasi – collected $102,986 for his victory, so a pretty good ROI for anybody who qualifies via a $2.20 sub-satellite!
This December, the prize pool could be even bigger. Any player who is bust from the event during the six levels of late registration on either of the two opening flights has the option of a single re-entry. Players can also play on both Day 1A and Day 1B, carrying forward their largest stack of chips into Day 2 (the other stack is forfeited). There is also a good schedule of side events and cash games running alongside the Main Event.

If you are not already playing at Intertops Poker, and you fancy a trip to Venice in December, check out our review of Intertops Poker. Our review tells you the good and bad aspects of the site, and gives details about how to qualify for a 200% match bonus on first deposits up to $1,000. There is also plenty of information about the standard of play you will find at the site, the ongoing promotions and the potentially valuable rewards program.
We rate Intertops Poker quite highly for the poker experience you will enjoy at the site – and for the high level of player security and customer support. If the WPT National Venice promotion attracts more European players to the site, there will be additional benefits of longer peak hours and more money on the tables – a very positive outcome, even if you do not win the package to the target event!
