The 2024 Summer Poker Series officially began on June 6th, and the action is going to last all the way through July 22nd. There are some big poker events that take place every single day, and more than $900,000 in prize money is going to be handed out.
It was another busy week of action as there were a number of important events that wrapped up. A female poker player was actually one of the biggest winners, but there were others that went on a great run as well.
Here is a look at three of the most recent winners from the Summer Poker Series at Resorts World Las Vegas.
Alvis Wins Another Title
Robyn Alvis has just two total live poker cashes to her name, but she is a player that knows how to get a big prize when she is in the running. Alvis just picked up a win at the Summer Poker Series, and it was her second tournament title in just three lifetime cashes.
The most recent win for Alvis came at the $400 buy-in no-limit hold’em event, and that is one of the signature tournaments during this series. This was just just one of two $100,000 guaranteed tournaments, and Alvis was able to walk away with more than $47,000.
There were 777 entries into this event, and created two pretty large starting flights, and players were eliminated from there. Only the top 78 players walked away with any money, and Alvis took control to take home the biggest prize.
With the win, Alvis has also earned herself a seat at the 2024 PokerStars North American Poker Tour Main Event. This was a massive reward for a player that doesn’t have a ton of experience in playing live poker.
Minguez Wins Again
Moral Minguez was also able to pick up a win last week as he took home the top prize in the $5,000, $200 No-Limit Hold’Em event. While this was not a huge prize at all, Minguez was able to walk away with $2,600 by taking home first place.
He is not a player that has had a ton of live poker success, but he always seems to be a name to watch in these events. He has only cashed four times, but three of those instances have been during this series.
Hannu Pekonen and Piyush Mittal both walked away with $2,679 in this event as well.
Isler Picks Up WIn Number 3
There were 112 players that paid the $400 buy-in in Event #40, and that doubled the guarantee prize money. Close to $40,000 was up for grabs in this event, and it was Jack Isler that walked away with a big prize of $4,700.
This was the third career win for Isler at this series, and he is approaching close to $40,000 in prize money throughout this career. Six other players walked away with just shy of $4,700 as there was a tight battle for the top spot.
