Durango Casino & Resort is set to launch in a few months' time. But, it is still under construction and will be Station Casinos and Red Rock Resorts (RRR) latest casino resort in Las Vegas.
The resort's success will determine if Station Casinos will soon start another casino project on the Vegas Strip. Station Casinos and RRR set new revenue records in 2022. Still, they are striving towards increasing their presence in the Strip by constructing a $750 million casino.
Durango Casino is on 50 acres southwest of the Las Vegas Strip south of the 215 Beltway near Ikea. It will comprise a 200-room hotel and 83,000 square feet casino. Some of its amenities will include meeting and convention facilities, four high-end restaurants, an event lawn, and a resort pool that has a private cabana.
Red Rock Resorts is Station Casinos' public trading subsidiary. They deliberated on Durango's construction progress in RRR's recent full-year and Q4 earnings meeting.
Stephen Cootey, RRR'S treasurer, chief financial officer, and executive vice president, stated that the casino resort is in a developing part of the Vegas Valley. It lacks gaming rivals in a five-mile radius and has a great demographic profile.
The official added that the casino's work in progress is promising and it will start operating before 2024. Still, Red Rock Resorts is determined to launch Durango in this year's fourth quarter.
Durango's Likely Performance
Durango Casino & Resort will serve Vegas players by providing a feat that will satisfy their appetites. It revealed this week that it will be an "Eat Your Heart Out" hall due to the four signature restaurants.
The food hall covers 25,000 square feet of space. It will have cuisines from different countries and offer a thrilling dining experience. Also, it will offer a wide array of food selections like Hawaiian street food, pizza, Chinese noodle bar, sushi, and burgers.
DRNK is at the center of the hall. It is a full bar with frozen cocktail concoctions. Station Casinos recently disclosed that it will construct a 600-room casino in Henderson in the future on its land Frank Fertitta, the gaming operator's owner stated that they have to achieve their expansion goals first.
Fertitta believes in Durango Casino & Resort's product and location. He hopes that Vegas players will like their gaming offers and the resort's success will influence them to kick off its Henderson project.
More Details About Station Casinos
Station Casinos is the owner of Durango's site for over two decades after purchasing it for $37 million. Also, the operator is among the region's biggest landowners. Unfortunately, its assets were reduced by almost 21 acres after a housing developer bought part of the land near Durango.
Cootey said that they will increase Durango's client base. Station Casinos sold its 35-acre land last year which had Fiesta Henderson before it was demolished. The executive revealed that the organization owns 522 acres of land. Of these, 120 acres are currently shopped or under contract.
