Morikawa, Thomas Have Second-Best Odds
While Rahm is the clear-cut favorite to win a major PGA tournament in 2022, Collin Morikawa isn’t too far behind him at +325 odds. Morikawa performed better at each passing major in 2021, placing T-18th at the Masters, T-8th at the PGA Championship and T-4th at the U.S. Open. Eventually, he won the Open Championship back in July.
Meanwhile, Thomas isn’t too far behind Morikawa at +350 odds. The 28-year-old Louisville, Kentucky native had his fair share of ups and downs on the 2021 PGA TOUR. Considering he didn’t come close to winning any of the majors that he competed in, it’s kind of strange that his odds are as favorable. After all, he placed T-21st, CUT, T-19th and T-40th at the Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open and Open Championship, respectively.
Phil Mickelson Has Worst PGA Major Odds
Clocking in at +2500 odds, BetOnline has given Phil Mickelson the worst odds to win a major PGA tournament in 2022.
Ahead of the 2021 season, the last time Mickelson won a major was when he was victorious at the Open Championship in 2013. Nevertheless, ‘Lefty’ shocked the world this year, shooting six-under-par to win the PGA Championship for the first time since 2005.
Nevertheless, Mickelson didn’t perform too well at the other 2021 majors. While tied for 21st at the Masters Tournament, he placed T-62nd at the U.S. Open and failed to make the cut at the Open Championship. At 51 years old, Mickelson’s best years are behind him, however, his PGA Championship win showed that he still has gas in the tank when needed. Only time will tell if he busts that out again in 2022.
