Ravens Looking to Continue Winning Ways
The Ravens have been great this season entering Week 10’s Thursday Night Football game, winners of six of their last seven games. After getting embarrassed by the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7, Baltimore used its bye weak to get re-focused. The result? A 34-31 overtime victory over the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday.
Lamar Jackson looked shaky at times in the game, finishing with a 60.7% completion rating for 187 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while also being sacked three times. He also rushed the ball 21 times, totalling 120 yards. While that’s a good performance for some, Jackson is capable of playing a lot better than that. Fortunately, he can get back on track against a Dolphins defense giving up 280.9 passing yards per game (30th). Not only that but veteran wideout Sammy Watkins is expected to make his return after a four-week absence.
Assuming that Watkins plays, it’ll mark the first time that Jackson will have him, Rashod Bateman and Marquise Brown at his disposal. If the offense clicks like the coaching staff is hoping for, Miami could be in trouble.
Another thing that points to the Ravens’ favor is that sophomore QB Tua Tagovailoa might be out for the Dolphins. He’s currently questionable for Thursday Night Football with a finger injury, which means Jacoby Brissett would start under center if the former can’t perform. Considering that Brissett has only thrown five TDs to 4 INTs while averaging just 161.0 passing yards per game in four starts, the Ravens must be salivating at the thought of that matchup. Even if Tagovailoa plays, he may not be at 100%, which could give Baltimore more confidence.

It’s going to be an uphill game for Miami, no doubt. As mentioned before, it still isn't clear who’ll start at quarterback tonight. Tagovailoa is much better than Brissett, however, he might not be fully healthy. The good news is that, despite their record, the Ravens are giving up the 10th-most total yards and 12th-most points per game this season. Yes, the Dolphins may not have the best offense, but they’re more than capable of taking advantage of Baltimore’s defense on a good day.
Besides, the Miami D has shown improvements over their last three games, giving up 21.7 PPG (16th) — nearly five points fewer than their season average. If the Dolphins’ offensive players can pick up the slack, this Thursday Night Football matchup could be closer than expected.
