While it’s already been an exciting week for golf fans, things are about to get even better because the 2021 Bermuda Championship is right around the corner. The tournament will be played at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton Parish, Bermuda and will begin on Thursday, October 28 before concluding on Sunday, October 31.
BetOnline has released its odds to get a better sense of who may win the tournament. As it stands, Matthew Fitzpatrick is currently the favorite at +1200 odds.
The 27-year-old English golfer has never competed at the Bermuda Championship in the past, so this is a first for him. It’ll also be his first competition since he was cut at the Northern Trust back in late August.
Nevertheless, Fitzpatrick saw his fair share of ups and downs throughout the 2021 PGA TOUR. He competed in 20 events, placing inside of the Top 25 nine times, with his best performance being when he finished T-4th at the RBC Heritage in April. At the same time, there may be some cause for concern. There were five instances that he failed to make the cut, with three of those occurring in his last eight outings.
Still, one thing that Fitzpatrick does have going for him is that a large majority of the top PGA players won’t be in Bermuda this week. Had it been the opposite, he’d be much further down the odds list. Regardless, he needs to take advantage of the situation because winning the Bermuda Championship could help him get back on track.

Bezuidenhout, Reed Tied for Second-Best Odds
At +1800 odds, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Patrick Reed are both tied for the second-best shot at winning the Bermuda championship.
Like Fitzpatrick, this year marks Bezuidenhout’s first time competing at the Port Royal Golf Course. The 27-year-old South African is also benefiting from the weaker field in Bermuda. His 2021 season was somewhat uninspiring. He competed in 12 PGA events across the calendar, placing inside of the Top 25 just once, which came when he finished T-7th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March. We haven’t seen him play since his T-16th finish at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, so it’ll be interesting to see how Bezuidenhout looks after two months of rest.
Reed will also be making his Bermuda Championship debut this week. The American golfer has had a rough start to the 2022 PGA TOUR, failing to make the cut at the Shriners Children’s Open before placing T-68th at the CJ Cup two weeks ago. He’ll be looking to win this tournament as a way to get back on track like he was at the start of last season. Reed began the previous tour with five finishes of 14th or better in his first seven outings, which included winning the Farmers Insurance Open all the way back in January.
While he did carry that momentum throughout the first half of 2021, Reed hasn’t finished an event inside of the Top 20 since the U.S. Open — nearly five months ago. Just like the others, he needs to take advantage of the weak field in Bermuda this week. Only time will tell if he can.
