While the 2021 PGA Tour continues, some sportsbooks are already looking ahead to the 2022 season. After all, it isn’t that uncommon to get an early start on predicting who’ll win next year’s major tournaments. Bovada is one of the websites that has already released odds for the 2022 PGA Championship — which will be played at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma — and is currently favoring Rory McIlroy to win it all at +1100 odds.
McIlroy is far from a stranger when it comes to competing at the PGA Championship. He’s competed at the event multiple times in the past and has won the tournament two times — most recently in 2014. While both of his wins may have come quite some time again, that doesn’t change the fact that McIlroy brings enough experience that can help him win the 2022 PGA Championship. Aside from those two victories, he has had five total top-5 finishes at the event since 2010.
When it comes to the current tour, McIlroy has been having a solid season, finishing inside of the top 10 six times in 18 events. However, his performance at this year’s PGA Championship was one to forget. McIlroy finished the weekend going five over par, which was good for a T-49th finish. Fortunately, he has nearly a year to forget about that showing and work towards winning his third PGA Championship in 2022.

Rahm Seeking to Win Tournament for the First Time
At +1200 odds, Jon Rahm has the second-best odds to win the 2022 PGA Championship. Few golfers have been as consistent as Rahm has been on the current PGA Tour, which is just one of the many reasons why he’s being favored so heavily. He’s finished top 10 in 12 out of the 19 events he’s competed in, which includes three top-3 finishes as well. However, out of all of the tournaments he’s played in this year, Rahm’s best performance came back in June when he won the U.S. Open for the first time.
When it came to the 2021 PGA Championship, Rahm finished one stroke under par and placed T-8th. It was far from his best performance, especially as he placed T-4th in 2018, however, it still shows that he can hang with the best of them. There’s still plenty of time to build up momentum ahead of the 2022 edition of the tournament, so look for Rahm to continue being one of the best golfers in the world until we get there.
Dustin Johnson 2022 PGA Championship Odds
Dustin Johnson (+1400) has accomplished a lot of amazing things throughout his career, but one thing that he’s yet to do is win the PGA Championship. He’s come close before, placing second in 2019 and 2020. While that may be encouraging to some, Johnson was cut from this year’s event after scoring 76 and 74 through the first two rounds, respectively.
In fact, the word ‘inconsistent’ may be the perfect one to describe the season that Johnson’s been having. At first, he started off the 2021 PGA Tour on a high note, winning the Masters Tournament back in November. While he had some gems after that, Johnson spent the next few events bouncing between promising showings and finishes outside of the top 40. Fortunately, he’s been playing better as of late. He may not have won any more tournaments, however, Johnson has finished top 25 in five of his last six outings — including three top-10 performances in that span. With the talent that he has, don’t be surprised if he continues to build momentum ahead of the 2022 PGA Championship.
