In recent years, it’s become a pretty big trend to see celebrities stepping inside of a boxing ring. One of the most notable ones to help popularize the trend has been YouTuber Logan Paul (along with his brother, Jake). He’s boxed fellow YouTuber KSI twice in the past, but that’s nothing compared to what he’ll have to face when he meets boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in the center of the ring in less than two months.
It was announced on Tuesday that Paul and Mayweather would be squaring off on June 6 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. The two were scheduled to box earlier in the year, but the bout ended up being postponed. At the time, Paul said that it was because of “business complications,” however, it appears as if that’s been sorted out.
With that being said, much like with other boxing events, sports bettors will be all over a clash between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul. Even though the fight was announced less than 24 hours ago, BetOnline has already released odds for the fight. As of now, they’re favouring Mayweather to be victorious at -800 odds. Meanwhile, Paul is the underdog at +500.

Will Mayweather Cruise to an Easy Victory?
It’s not hard to see why Floyd Mayweather is the favorite in this fight. The man is a perfect 50-0 in his boxing career. If none of the world’s best boxers has been able to defeat him, it’s hard to imagine that Logan Paul will. Even though this is only an exhibition match and Mayweather might be holding back, it’s not difficult to imagine that him at 50% is still better in the ring than Paul at his best.
Mayweather hasn’t stepped into a ring since having an exhibition bout with Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa. The two clashed back in December 2018, with Mayweather walking away victorious with a TKO. Nevertheless, some people had issues with the match because of the fact that Nasukawa’s corner waved it off early on, leading to a premature finish. Still, it’ll be interesting to see how Floyd Mayweather looks in the ring after around two and a half years. Judging by how he takes care of his body, he should still be in good enough shape to prove why he’s the favorite.
Does Paul Have a Shot at Winning?
On paper, it looks like this boxing match should be easy for Floyd Mayweather, especially when you compare his boxing accomplishments to what Logan Paul has done. On the other hand, you can never tell with these bouts involving celebrities. They can sometimes be controversial, leading to spectators questioning its legitimacy. With that being said, it’s hard to envision Paul defeating Mayweather.
Even though Paul has around a six-inch height advantage, it won’t make a difference because he can’t match Mayweather’s experience. The multi-time champion has been in the sport for 25 years now. Yes, Paul has looked impressive at times, but that’s been against someone who is on the same level as him. Floyd Mayweather is a world-class athlete and if he hasn’t lost in a boxing ring already, it likely won’t happen against the YouTuber this weekend.
