Not even the COVID-19 pandemic can stop the Golden Globes from being awarded this year and following this year’s nominations, sportsbooks have released odds for the major awards.
The 78th Golden Globe Awards will be held on February 28 at 8 pm ET — almost two months after it would normally air.
Biographical drama Mank leads all film nominations with six. Meanwhile, historical drama The Crown leads television nominations with six as well.
Schitt’s Creek, which made history by winning the main seven comedy awards at the 2020 Emmys, is up for five Golden Globes,

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s success with the Hamilton franchise is expected to continue into the film industry. Miranda has already won Tonys and Grammys for Hamilton’s Broadway performances.
With the second-best odds of winning this award, The Prom was also nominated for Golden Globe and GLAAD awards. It also boasts a star-studded cast with the likes of Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep and Ariana Grande, among others.
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is Sacha Baron Cohen’s surprise sequel to his 2006 hit, Borat. With the cult following Cohen garnered from the first film, it would not be surprising to see Borat Subsequent Movefilm having some great success at the Golden Globes.

The cast of Borat Subsequent Moviefilm continues to have great odds for their respective awards. Maria Bakalova had never acted in a major project until she was cast as Borat’s daughter, Tutar, which makes this even more impressive.
Nobody expected for such a fresh face to be able to keep up with Cohen’s Borat, but she did so and more.

With four nominations, including Best Actress and Director, Nomadland is the favorite for the best drama film of the year. Chloé Zhao directed, produced and edit Nomadland and it has already won awards across film festivals, such as Toronto and Venice.
With the best odds, it would not be a surprise to see it having success at the Golden Globes.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is the late Chadwick Boseman’s final film, which was released posthumously back in November. While every actor in the category has had a good performance, Boseman’s tragic passing may make it too hard to bet against him winning the award.
Even if he were alive, it doesn’t change the fact that his performance as Levee Green was extremely memorable and will forever live on in his legacy.

At this point, it seems to be hard to bet against Schitt’s Creek. After winning seven Emmys, the hit show looks to dominate the Golden Globes as well.
Schitt’s Creek does face some competition, as Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso, starring Jason Sudeikis, has been gaining traction. While the former’s dominance isn’t expected to end, don’t be surprised if Ted Lasso comes up with the upset.

The Schitt’s Creek cast continues to dominate the major individual awards, as Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara are the favorites to win their respective awards.
Schitt’s Creek’s Dan Levy also has the best odds of winning Best TV Supporting Actor (-220). Co-star Annie Murphy has the second second-best odds of becoming Best TV Supporting Actress (+450) behind The Crown’s Gillian Anderson (-260).
If anything, Schitt’s Creek may be poised for another dominant night.

It’s clear that when it comes to the Best TV Movie and Limited Series categories, The Queen’s Gambit and its cast are the stars of the show. Anna Taylor-Joy’s role as Beth Harmon has been critically acclaimed for doing the unthinkable: getting people heavily invested in a show about chess.
Taylor-Joy faces stiff competition for Best Actress, with the likes of Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett, but her growing superstardom gives her more than a fighting chance of being the favorite.
