In the last 30 days, the Winning Poker Network (WPN) has seen increased action on its cash tables at a rate of 6%.
WPN is home to top skin Americas Cardroom, as well as Black Chip Poker, and now averages 450 ring game players. The increase may be the result of the conclusion of the Online Super Series IV Rematch last month. Tournament action typically takes players away from cash tables, but many go back to ring games once OSS-type events are finished.
Merge Down
Heading in the other direction was the Merge Gaming Network. PokerScout reports that Merge players total 550 in a seven-day average at present. That’s an 8% dip from the 600 in mid-February and may partly be due to warmer weather arriving in the U.S.
In fact, the entire online poker industry that includes sites worldwide has been on the decline for five straight weeks. It’s that time of year when folks, poker players or not, start heading outdoors. That could be good news for Merge’s Carbon Poker players who can use the decrease in player traffic to make some bonus cash in daily points races in the Carbon Grand Prix.
EPN Up
Poker players know that their bankrolls often swell and dive, like waves in the ocean. So too does player traffic at U.S.-friendly poker sites it seems. The Equity Poker Network is enjoying a swell at the moment with an increase of 5% over the past month.
Ring game players average 200 at EPN, bettering the 190 in February. The bulk of those players are at flagship skin Full Flush Poker. A new promo at FFP that coincides with the NCAA basketball tournament may see some cash players transition to tournament action. At least until early April when the promo and NCAA tournament conclude.
Revolution Stable
The Revolution Network remained stable from month-to-month, with 110 players the norm competing at cash games. That is a bit surprising to us traffic watchers who expected to see a rise in action now that Intertops Poker is accepting US players.
The stability at Revolution may be the result of seasonal considerations, as the new U.S. players who signed up at Intertops were likely nullified by those players who began heading outdoors when temperatures rose recently.
SwC Resurrected
For those who are into the Bitcoin poker site scene, SealsWithClubs made its departure over the last month following a raid at the Las Vegas home of the site chairman. The poker room is back under a new name (SWC Poker) and from a new location (Antigua).
Player traffic at the new SwC offering open to U.S. players is not yet being published. Even if it were, we would have to urge U.S. players to exercise extreme caution until Bitcoin is both understood and accepted at a greater rate than is currently.
Finding Your Poker Site
Finally, Bovada remains the top poker room that accepts U.S. players. With a cash game average of 1,800, that is consistent with last month and is good for 4th place worldwide when counting Bodog and Bovada players together.
